Quiet and great

We loved our stay here. Tonda was so great and kept checking in ti see if we needed anything. Pool was great on those hot days. We had a great stay. Our family will be back!

Excellent property and host!

We were in town for a family reunion. Normally, we stay with my aunt but needed other accommodations this trip. The location was perfect for us. Very convenient to shopping, restaurants, and the beach. The home was lovely! It was clean, quiet, and well-stocked. We lacked for nothing! The bedrooms are well spaced apart and I slept soundly every night. Tonda is an excellent host and was very responsive to any questions. The pool was perfect for my crew and we enjoyed our time swimming! We are highly likely to stay at McCarter Guest House on our next visit as long as it's available. I highly recommend this property in Long Beach!

A very pleasant stay!

We enjoyed staying here so much. Tonda is such a fabulous hostess who makes sure you have everything you need and more! The cottage was very welcoming and felt very homey. Will be visiting again on our next trip!

Best VRBO stay in years!

Hostess was very accommodating and gracious, with NO annoying list of chores, dos & don’t s, etc. The house was extremely clean and had everything we could possibly need for our stay, including beach chairs & umbrellas. We’re definitely going back!

Would definitely stay here again

This is a sweet, perfectly located house in a quiet environment near everything you'll need, and not far from wonderful restaurants in Long Beach as well as the Gulf Coast. The kitchen is fully equipped and well-stocked with basics. The house is very comfortable. The hostess, Tonda, could not possibly have been more accomodating and gracious. When I arrived she walked through the house with me explaining where everything was and how everything worked, then checked with me the next morning to see how things were going. I would definitely stay here again!

Great location

The host of this property is so kind. She has excellent communication. The house is well stocked with everything you could need. It was so nice to be able to do laundry and use a cooler for our trips. We felt very safe in the neighborhood.

Great location! Close to beaches, restaurants, fun, etc!

Tonda was a great hostess and we enjoyed every minute of our stay! She offered to check into things of interest for us ahead of time, was available whenever needed (which was not often since everything was so great), and made our stay easy and enjoyable. The house was great, exactly as described and the pool was awesome too! Tonda had everything we needed (and even above and beyond that!) and made sure we knew we had access to everything. Highly recommend this stay!

Peaceful Retreat

The house was clean and well stocked. Tonda was an exceptional host and made sure we had everything we needed. The house was decorated in a manner that made it feel like a home away from home. It was a great home base for a week full of activities. It was only five minutes away from the beach, an hour from New Orleans and a hour from Mobile.

Amazing doesn't even describe

This amazing property is off the noisy path, beautiful scenic yard, minutes from shopping and beach, everything and more provided, bring clothes and enjoy. Property manager Tonda is amazing courteous and offers to help all you have to do is ask. True southern hospitality at its finest. Highly recommend and look forward to staying again in the future.

Born in Union City, Indiana to Ed and Mariellen McCarter. When I was 6 years old family moved from the north to the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast. We moved to a home on three acres of land in Long Beach where my parents remained until retirement. Upon retirement they chose to travel the county and it was at that time my late husband, Norman Yandell and I purchased the family home.
After several years of traveling Ed and Mariellen made the decision to return to a permanent location and built their perfect retirement home on the family property. Their retirement home that brought them so much joy is now McCarter Lane Guest House.
Ed and Mariellen passed away in 1992. After a lot of soul searching and because they both loved vacationing , seeing new sights and meeting interesting people, we decided to honor them by making their special home a inviting vacation destination . In 1994 McCarter Lane Guest House welcomed our first guests. It has been an absolute pleasure to welcome hundreds of guests from all over the world. And It is especially rewarding to see the same guests return year after year.
With great joy, I take pride in making our guests feel as if they are entering the perfect home away from home, making a point to keep them informed and updated about all local opportunities and always on hand for any services I can provide.
