Une grange restaurée dans une ferme de 1790.

Le Cottage est une grange entièrement rénovée du XIXe siècle dotée de poutres et chariots offrant un magnifique plan d'étage ouvert avec du carrelage en bois et en pierre partout. L'étage principal comprend une cuisine entièrement équipée pour les invités, une salle de bain avec douche et un grand coin salon avec WIFI et une grande télévision connectée à écran plat. La grande chambre en mezzanine dispose d'un lit queen size. Les invités supplémentaires de la même réservation peuvent être hébergés dans un très confortable canapé-lit queen dans le salon principal. En tout, il y a plus de 1000 pieds carrés de pure intimité.
Les clients bénéficieront de vues spectaculaires sur l'ouest des montagnes Blue Ridge, en particulier au coucher du soleil. Ouvrez une fenêtre et endormez-vous au son du pâturage du bétail ou à l'appel des griffes printanières. Profitez du ciel nocturne non filtré rempli d'étoiles et de punaises de la foudre. Découvrez les terres humides qui traversent notre propriété et offrez des plaisirs supplémentaires de Dame Nature, notamment des aigles à tête blanche, des grands hérons, des faucons, des oies canadiennes et des renards roux (après tout, c’est un pays de chasse en Virginie). Asseyez-vous au patio du foyer (une ancienne dalle de silo) et profitez d'un repas en plein air ou d'un verre de vin.
Petit déjeuner continental quotidien composé de fruits frais biologiques, de yaourts et de pâtisseries. Jus d'orange biologique, lait, moitié-moitié, céréales, café et thé sont stockés dans la cuisine. Les clients sont invités à apporter des éléments supplémentaires pour cuisiner.
Dunthorpe Farm est plus que juste un chalet B & B. C'est la ferme restaurée de 1790 de Kelly et Philip Foltman, et comprend le Dr La pratique vétérinaire de Foltman et plusieurs chevaux personnels. Ils partagent également leur maison avec deux chats et deux chiens dont les invités sont invités à profiter au lieu d'apporter leurs propres animaux de compagnie. Le chalet ne convient pas aux enfants de moins de 10 ans.

Great stay! Close to Appalachian Trail hiking (Bears Den and Ravens Rock), close to some great breweries and wineries, close to some wonderful restaurants...very peaceful setting with open floor plan on main level. Really enjoyed the time spent here.

Another great stay

As in our previous stay, this property was a little haven. It’s clean, well appointed and thoughtfully stocked. Comfy bed and linens and loved the breakfast treats and extensive coffee/tea/breakfast bar.

Weekend getaway

Everything was perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable and the warm breakfast pastries and fruit were such a treat! We walked up and down the gravel roads enjoying all the beautiful scenery! We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice property, the house is clean and organized, with all the thing you might need. Love the fire pit-no better place to relax in the evening with a glass of wine! Phill and Kelly are great hosts! This was my second time staying at the cottage, enjoyed it just as much and can't wait to be back.

Beautiful Place to Relax

We were in town for a wedding and this property was the perfect place to stay! The owners were helpful, kind and made a delicious homemade breakfast each day! The property was spacious and very clean- the perfect place to unwind. If you enjoy peace and quiet, a sky full of stars, access to hiking and local wineries/breweries, and waking up to a scenic view with horses, this is your place!

Wonderful country setting and guest house

Beautiful upscale guest house with charm and character. Surroundings were wonderful,and the owners dogs were so cute. Homemade breakfast treats were over the top. A very relaxing setting. We stayed there as I was racing at Summit Point, but we would go back again just for a nice quiet weekend getaway in a heartbeat.

Paradise

Perfect place to getaway from it all! Quiet and tranquil. Kelly and Phil are great hosts. The house is spotless clean, has all the amenities possibly needed, wonderful fire pit to spend evenings outside watching fireflies, but most of all it has the charm! This was our third time staying and we can’t wait to be back!

Weekend Getaway

Loved everything about our stay on the farm. The cottage was warm & comfortable & they had thought of everything. We enjoyed playing with the dogs & petting the cats & the one horse we could reach! Long weekend in Harper’s Ferry

The Cottage was the perfect place for our three day weekend. The rental is immaculate with many small touches (including complimentary breakfast snacks delivered at 7:30 am!) that set it apart from other rentals. Kelly and Phil were helpful with local recommendations. While we originally planned on focusing our visit in nearby Harper’s Ferry, Round Hill and Purcellville are also worth a stop. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great Getaway!

LOVE the cottage! Everything is exactly as described/shown, but better in person! The cottage is delightful, well equipped with everything you need for a perfect stay. Enjoyed watching the hummingbirds right outside the huge picture window. Beautiful scenery can be enjoyed from the cozy couch or on a leisurely stroll around the property. Deer visited the farm every evening. Fantastic scones & fruit delivered fresh to our door in the morning -- thank you so much for that special touch! Highly recommend and hope we can come back for a repeat visit.

Bucolic Haven

The Cottage at Dunthorpe Farm was one of the best places we have ever stayed. We loved the cottage with its high ceilings, open floor plan, cozy seating arrangements, and panoramic view, but what made our week there really special were Kelly and Phil, the owners. Although we are not morning people, we awoke looking forward to the homemade pastries, jams, and fresh fruit that Kelly left for us each morning. She also replenished our stock of coffees, teas, hot chocolate, orange juice, etc. Besides that both Kelly and Phil provided us with a wealth of information about the area from great places to eat to things to look for and interesting sights along the walks I took each day. They were wonderful! P.S. - We also enjoyed the dogs.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Dunthorpe Cottage for our 16th anniversary! Kelly is very accommodating and property is as described, if not better. All recommendations made by Kelly were perfect for us. We ate at Magnolias at the Mill and West End Wine Bar & Pub in Purcellville, which were excellent. Also ventured to Blue Moon Cafe in Shepardstown, WV after visiting Harpers Ferry. This cafe was a perfect spot after a day of hiking and touring the city. If you enjoy hiking, we recommend the Maryland Heights trail in Harpers Ferry. It is connected to the Overlook trail where there is a beautiful overlook view. Hike was ~6mi but you can definitely just do the Overlook trail for a shorter hike. Also hiked Raven’s Rock (6.9mi) which had a nice view at the end and was part of the Appalachian Trail. Every morning we were met with a delicious breakfast to compliment the already well-stocked cereal and coffee bar! We highly recommend this B&B. Thank you.

Absolute Gem in Horse and Wine Country, VA

My wife and I just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at The Cottage. Phil was an amazing host (his wife was away on a business trip), and he took great care to ensure all of our needs were met. He even allowed me to drop off some surprise items for our weekend in the early afternoon of our first day prior to our scheduled check in. The Cottage was one of the cleanest VRBOs we’ve ever stayed in. The special touches of having fresh pastries and organic fruit delivered each morning was a great touch. We enjoyed the fire pit as well. We will definitely be returning.

Amazing Cottage B&B

The cottage was lovely and couldn’t have been nicer. Kelly and Phil were superb hosts and were available and willing to accommodate us in every way. The restored cottage is quaint and comfortable, nicely decorated, and well equipped with all the amenities of home. There is a fire pit next to the cottage where we enjoyed coffee in the morning and star gazing at night. The farm is beautiful and full of history. The location is great and is a short distance from many of the wineries in the area. Harpers Ferry is close as well and is an interesting place to visit. We enjoyed our relaxing stay and are sure to return. A big Thank You to Kelly and Phil for their hospitality. We hope all the guests enjoy Kelly’s homemade jams as much as we did.

Kelly and Phil love northern Virginia and enjoy sharing all that the area has to offer to guests. While not working at their day jobs they enjoy riding their horses and working to restore and maintain the farm.
