Husky Ranch-Glacier & Bay Views! Charmante maison-nature sauvage - sérénité

Vous ressentirez la sérénité du pays de l'Alaska et de la beauté sauvage en dehors de la ville sur 10 acres! Petite maison soignée et propre avec des fenêtres qui encadrent des vues dignes d'une carte postale! Intérieur confortable avec 2 chambres à l'étage et suffisamment d'espace pour un lit d'appoint si nécessaire. La terrasse extérieure accueille un barbecue et des vues dont vous vous souviendrez longtemps après votre départ. Situé à environ 15 minutes de la ville, l'un des avantages est l'incroyable route d'East End Road! Vous voyez Homer sous un angle complètement différent alors que vous montez jusqu'à 1400 pieds au-dessus de la baie! Il y a Fritz Creek General Store pour les agrafes, le gaz, le bureau de poste et la meilleure pizza de la ville! Aussi, c'est le pays "Alaska: The Last Frontier" car la ferme Kilchers est dans la région de Fritz Creek à seulement quelques miles de The Husky Ranch! Il y a un sentier de randonnée dans les parcs d'État à moins d'un demi-mile du ranch ou profitez simplement de votre course! Les fleurs sauvages à gogo! La maison est de 1400 pieds carrés et peut accueillir 4 dans 2 lits queen; plus possible! Wi-Fi, DISH TV, toutes les commodités! Au début de la saison, on parle de «débâcle» et le printemps se réveille encore, mais à la mi-juin, attention, les grues atterrissent dans les champs et les orignaux naviguent fréquemment dans la cour! C'était autrefois un ranch de chiens de traîneau robuste, alors surveillez les vieux traîneaux qui ornent la propriété. Bienvenue ~~!

The view from this cabin is unreal! Cabin was extremely clean and comfortable. The living room and yard were great for the kids to play. The hostess was extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again!

The ONLY problem with Husky Ranch is that when you look out of the huge windows onto the Bay, the mountains, and the glaciers beyond, you just want to sink into the wonderful couch and never leave your seat ! The accommodations are five star, and our hosts have supplied the home with everything you need. They even included a huge basket of "goodies" for us to enjoy (which we decimated). There are 'blackout' shades in the bedroom, the TV has all the channels you would ever want, and the drive into town is extremely scenic and enjoyable. We loved our stay, and would come back in a heartbeat.

Wonderful Epic Experience

It will be really hard to put into words how great our experience was with our stay at the Husky Ranch. It was a fantastic base for our adventure in Alaska. This is our second Alaska experience and the best accomodation we have had to date. The view is extraordinary, a sweeping 180 view of the Kenai Mountains and Kachemak bay! The property is large and expansive with no close neighbors except for the grounds maintenance housing. The owner was very eager to assure that our stay was satisfactory which was appreciated very much. We would definitely recommend this property for anybody who wants a high-quality base for their Alaskan experience.

Magnificent views and a wonderful rental

We loved our short stay here just outside of Homer! The views of the mountains and glaciers were amazing and the property was in a quiet location. We also appreciated the extra water bowls for dogs. The property managers were very helpful and kind (they made homemade muffins and told us where to find the best prices for gas and groceries!). We hope to be back next year for a longer stay!

Incredible view in cozy cabin

This was our hub for Homer area visit of Alaskan tour. Property was very clean, comfortable and welcoming for me and my son. The continuous view of beautiful flowers (fireweed I think?) against the blue and white of Kachemak bay, surrounding mountains and glaciers makes you want to move here! Would definitely come back!

Fritz Creek Paradise

The Husky Ranch exceeded our expectations in every way! It was our first trip to Homer and we fell head-over-heels, not just with Homer but with this location. The cabin is exceptionally clean and well appointed. The views are indescribable (the pictures don’t even begin to capture the scope). Waking in the morning to this is the true Alaskan experience, you feel very small in this incredible landscape. We live in Anchorage and have already began looking at nearby properties for our own little piece of this Fritz Creek paradise!

Very beautiful views the cabin/house had a nice 1 bedroom with a converted attic as another bedroom, several things in the cabin did not work and all in all was a comfortable stay but not worth the $ amount I was charged. If it is one couple with children will work well not 2 couples.

Many multiple couples and families have stayed comfortably at the Ranch. The second room is nearly as big as the first with a heavy, double curtain for privacy. The rooms are on the same level and the second one has never been used as an attic; it's always been a bedroom. The bed is a very expensive, comfortable memory foam that has been complimented a lot! The dish washer recently went out and I'm working on getting that replaced.

Authentic Alaskan Living

This authentic log cabin was set in a stunning location outside of Homer and the hustle and bustle of the Spit. The fall colors were incredible - looking out any of the many windows we enjoyed the fall fireweed foliage paired with the bright greens of a moist climate, bright shades of blue of Kachemak Bay, purple mountains topped with white and crystal blue glaciers all affected by the ever changing skies. We were mesmerized by the stars on 2 clear nights. On one beautiful morning as we drove around the country roads in the area we came upon 3 bears, a moose, 2 sandhill cranes and a Huskie ranch. We loved our time here. As seniors, we were a bit concerned when we saw that the bathroom is downstairs (narrow and without any handrails) while the comfy bedrooms are upstairs but by the second night we felt more confident negotiating the stairs for the middle of the night bathroom run! We would love to go back sometime to Husky Ranch!

Breath Taking Views and Comfortable Home

Perfect place to stay just outside of Homer. From the moment we drove up to the house we knew that we had made the right decision to stay here. The view is gorgeous and the grounds of the house were very nice too. We love privacy so this place was perfect for us. Lorraine is so welcoming and she makes you feel like you are a long lost friend that is happy to have you stay in her home. The house is very spacious, clean, and cozy. There is a very good vibe and energy in this rental. Every window you look out of has a pretty view. In fact there was one window that looked so perfect that you almost thought you were looking at a beautiful painting. This is the type of place you could stay at for a long long visit. I loved the open floor plan on the first floor. The kitchen was well equipped and there was even beautiful pottery pieces to use. It was also nice to be welcomed to the home with a basket of homemade muffins and fruit. The fridge had yogurt too. There was coffee, tea, sugar, and spices in the cabinets for our use as well. I loved meeting Pete, the property manager. We stood outside and chatted for well over an hour. He is such a nice person and I'm sure he would do anything to make the stay here perfect. It's nice that he and his wife are close by but don't disrupt your privacy. You can tell that it is the people that make this place so special. If we ever visit this area of Alaska again I would definitely stay at Lorraine's Husky Ranch! We stayed there with my son and his girlfriend and their 2 dogs. We all loved the place and we wish we could have stayed longer. It's the kind of place that once you get there you don't want to leave. Can't say enough positive things about the Owners and this Property! Terrific -- we came back this year (came from Florida!) and hoped it would be as nice as it was last year, and it was better. We witnessed the courting dance of sandhill cranes in the front yard outside our window as well as a mother moose with her two calves and a male bull walk through as well. The view is outstanding and the quarters themselves are comfortable and fully stocked. The Owners are quick to respond if we had any questions at all, and took care of us very nicely. Lots to do here as well -- plenty of wonderful local restaurants, gift shops, and the Pratt Museum is not to be missed. Our dog, Carly, had a great time as well with plenty of places to take her for her walks right from the home. I don't have to be a mind-reader to let you know that if you stay at the Husky Ranch, you will want to come back annually as well! Don't pass it up.

When we got to the cabin in was after dark. But when we woke up the next morning OMG!! I can’t say much cause the views just took my breath away!!! The cabin was perfect for what we needed. This was a trip for us to get away and relax to reflect on the past year of my husbands passing. From the cabin to the view and the host. This was a perfect place to come enjoy and relax. More than what we were expecting

From the minute we drove up to the cabin we loved it we hadn’t even gotten through the door. The view of the glaciers was amazing…the fireweed fields were gorgeous. We had all the equipment needed to make our meals….beds were comfortable. We would highly recommend this VRBO. We will definately stay here again next year.

I graduated from University California Santa Barbara in 1984 and decided to head north before returning to grad school. I came to Alaska and have since lived a rather colorful life as a dog musher, boat captain, fish buyer, commercial fisherman, tour guide and many years in tourism! Needless to say, I never got that graduate degree, but I can certainly tout that I have a degree in Alaskan lifestyle and all the riches that come with it! I hung up my harnesses 10 years ago and haven't run boats in longer than that, but I continue to do motivational presentations in schools across the US, mostly in the western states. I've been doing that for over 20 is good and whereas I've never been married or had children, I've had more than a few beaus and lots of 4 legged children including my beloved horses which I cherish and honor. My current boyfriend Mike and I just bought a house in Cooper Landing up in the mountains on the Kenai River where we run Kahtnu Spirit Lodging. I'll have puppies all summer there for you to play with! Happy trails~!

The Husky Ranch is a special spot on the planet that seems to attract the right people at the right time who need a certain newness to their life or a change or a deeper understanding of their connection to this great place called 'life'. The 10 acres was originally homesteaded in the 1950's and has only had one other owner besides myself. It was perfect for my dog mushing business which I did for 20 years as I could access the back country easily; now, there are homes in way and private property to navigate. It offers views that are the classic incredible Homer views with the twist that it is closer to the head of the bay and therefore, feels like you are closer to the glaciers and alp like mountains on the edge of the Harding Icefield. It is a precious piece of land that I get to share with those guests that want to get a little further away from town and experience Alaska a little deeper. Namaste.
