À propos du quartier

Saint-Paul-de-Vence

The view is lovely at the Villa. The problem was the lack of amenities. There was literally 1/2 roll of toilet paper (and that's all) in each bathroom and no soap of any kind in the bathrooms to wash hands after usage. there also was no paper towel, no trash bags, no laundry detergent nor shampoo. If I was paying for a bare bones house, understood. But this is an expensive villa. WE stayed here 5 years ago and this was not the case. You can do better Jorg. The front door key got stuck in the door as we arrived. We called the caretaker Marc and emailed Jorg and there was no response from Jorg and Marc said he would come late afternoon the next day (leaving us sleeping with the front door unlocked and the key sticking out, he never showed up

We had a fabulous holiday. Views simply stunning. House well equipped.A couple of things to note. We paid to rent linens, as well as bed linen this came with only one towel each when considering use of pool and showering this wasn't ideal.Whilst beautiful the house is on many levels with steep steps down to the pool area with no rail, plus a spiral staircase down to lower floor. Whilst it is clear the house is on various levels in the details this house would have accessibility issues for some with no knowledge prior to arrival. However noting the above it was overall a lovely house in a beautiful setting and an ideal base from which to explore.

Beautiful property with a gorgeous view and layout. Lots of space for us as two families meeting together. Note the bedroom arrangement. There are 3 bedrooms on the top floor 1 on the bottom and another in a seperate apartment which is attached to the house. This was less than ideal for us as two seperate families with young children. One family had 3 bedrooms upstairs and the other had 1 bedroom and a sofabed downstairs. There was also no bedding provided for either of the cots which we should have been advised of. We had paid for bedding. Also we stayed for a week and there was insufficent bin bag, dishwasher tablets etc provided for this time. We understand a starter pack is often provided in places but no one is going to buy dishwasher tablets, washing powder etc especially given the amount that this property was rented for. Overall it was a great property and we would recommend to others to stay. The view is spectacular the location is great and peaceful, pool is lovely. Accomodation is very secure and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay overall.

Ageing Villa with a view

At first the villa was as we expected, fantastic view of the mountains from a terraced villa in a residential cul de sac, short distance to Nice and close to the beautiful town of Saint Paul De Vence. As our two week holiday continued , it was evident that the villa needed updating and maintaining. The swimming pool had not been serviced on the saturday and it was clear that the chlorine levels not maintained . I notified the owner and he asked me to put in the cleaning tablets and hoover the pool and he would get the janitor in. There was then a blockage in the kitchen , which took two days for the janitor to come , who turned up at 8pm with a “plumber” and then in the dark with the pool lights on, maintained the pool. There was then a leak in our bedroom roof when it rained , which I notified the owner , who thanked me for letting him know, but did not offer any other advice or service. A couple of other things, was that The pool area had a section that held alot of rainwater that would not drain away and the table tennis table was warped with the bats and balls provided, being very tired. It all sounds terrible , but we did have a good family holiday with the villa serving our needs , although not without problems. If the owner invests in the updating and maintenance of the property, it will be a fantastic place to vacation.

Property was great! The view is spectacular. We were 9 adults ranging in age from 23-85. The walkway /stairs down to the pool are a bit difficult for those with mobility or balance issues. We found the location ideal. The small bakery at the bottom of the hill (25 min walk) was fantastic and so convenient. The lower apartment is separate to the rest of the house, which other reviews have mentioned. It was no problem for us, but might not be ideal for others. We enjoyed evening meals on the upper patio every night. We added some solar market lights along the railing, hope future guest enjoy them. The awning was also great for those sunny/warm afternoons to give a bit of shade. St. Paul de Vence was gorgeous. We had lunch at La Colombe D'Or and at Le Tilleul. Both beautiful restaurants. The pool area was lovely and relaxing. The driveway is narrow and steep! Probably not an issue for most, but we rented a 9-seater transit van and we barely made it in /out when fully loaded (ha ha).Overall we had the most marvelous time. The house and location are amazing.

Amazing views!

We had a great stay here with our adult children. The views go without saying and the house has a charming character. There was ample room to spread out and get privacy. There is a separate small apartment as well as a lower level suite area. It's down a few levels but we really enjoyed the pool area too. The kitchen is well equipment with utensils. It would be a great house for several couples or larger family. While not super close to town, we loved the location both to hang out at and use as a base for day trips. It is convenient to the Nice airport & a few train stations. We would definitely return if we had the opportunity! *One note is to pack your car or plan to shop immediately. The house does not come with cleaning products, paper products, cooking products or soap products, except the lucky people after us since we flew home & left all we had purchased. :) Also, fyi we rented linens and it was only 1 pillow case & 1 bath towel per person plus sheets for each bed so maybe rent extras.

Amazing villa, beautiful surroundings!

We had an amazing time. The villa was beautiful and had everything we needed. Lovely location and the views were amazing off the terrace. So much to do in the surrounding area and St Paul De Vence is stunning, we walked from the villa which was a little hilly but easily done. We would definately use this villa again, thank you for a brilliant holiday.
