La Bifora is a welcoming two-story apartment on the top floor of an ancient house dating back to the 12th century. The building ( with no elevator) is located in the oldest and most central area of Amalfi , only 50 meters away from the famous Piazza del Duomo di Amalfi (Square of the Cathedral of Amalfi), which is the rendezvous of the town.
At the foot of the famous stairway to the Duomo, you will find elegant shops, bars, and restaurants with outdoor tables. The promenade along the sea, the beach, all the other tourist attractions and the Piazza Flavio Gioia are a few meters away from the apartment.
Piazza Flavio Gioia is the terminal either for the SITA buses that connect all the villages along the Amalfi coast and the tourist port to board ferries to reach Positano, Capri, Sorrento, Ischia, Naples, and Salerno.

La Bifora features a wide private terrace with views over the beautiful Moorish bell-tower and the irregular red cotta rooftops of the town centre with the sea in the distance.
Here, in fine weather, you can lounge, read, and eat alfresco, a real rarity in a private home right in the heart of the town

The interiors have been recently refurbished throughout to provide a comfortable accommodation.
The ground floor level is paved with cotto tiles; instead, the first floor, which hosts the sleeping area, is paved with parquet and features sloped ceiling and characteristic exposed wood beams. The nice and modern furniture in the white colour in all rooms make the apartment welcoming and bright.

A car is not necessary in order to stay at Casa La Bifora . The town offers great bus and taxi services. But if you have a car, it is possible to reserve , for a a daily fee of 40 EUR , a private parking lot .(Parking is only possible in paid parking areas)

The house welcomes you into a living room which is spacious and comfortably furnished with wicker two seater sofa and armchairs around a coffee table and a satellite TV . This room is full of light thanks to French doors giving access to the terrace and a window facing onto a lemon garden.

The magnificent terrace, with a fantastic view over Amalfi and the bell- tower of the famous Cathedral, is accessible from the living room by climbing 5 steps. The terrace is equipped with a dining table sitting 4 people shaded by a sun umbrella, 4 sun loungers and an external shower in a corner.

From the living room, access is into the kitchen equipped with five-burner gas stove with electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave , dishwasher, a window opening onto the terrace and dining table seating 6 people.

On the left side of the living room, a short corridor with laundry area gives access to a fully equipped bathroom. The laundry area is equipped with a washbasin, a washing machine, iron and ironing board.
The fully equipped bathroom features a washbasin, a bidet, a WC, a bathtub and a large window.

Back to the living room, a wooden staircase of 12 steps takes to the first floor where are located 2 bedrooms, one double room and a single room, sharing a bathroom in the corridor.
The single room contains a good-quality divan that unfolds into a single bed suitable for children, teenagers, or young adults. It also has a window facing the main terrace
The other bedroom has a double bed, a small wardrobe and a French door leading out onto a side small terrace.
The bathroom features a washbasin, a bidet, a WC , a full stall shower and is well-lit by skylight facing the surrounding houses.
Access:
The house is reached on foot from the main town square, walking through the narrow public walkway that includes approximately 100 stairway steps. The building has no elevator.

Maid service: on request on confirmation of booking, payable locally. Approximately 10 Euros per hour

Parking: available on request, on confirmation of booking , in a private garage Daily cost is Euro 40,00 payable directly on the spot in cash.

Electricity and air conditioning/heating : included in the rental price .


Refundable security deposit due upon arrival : 300 EUR in cash

Visitor’s tax : payable locally in cash is 3,00 EUR per person per night


Distances : The major attractions , shops and restaurants of central Amalfi are within few minutes walk . Regular bus service operates from the nearby Flavio Gioia square to the other towns in the region.
