Family Wedding

Great Time!

Our family had a great time on our vacation. The home was very nice, inviting and wonderfully equipped for our 21 month old grandson. It was very convenient to walk out the back door and enjoy the saltwater pool. Our family would definitely recommend this home to our friends.

Amazing spot

The space was larger than expected . So much room for kids to go hang out and adults were able to hang out in separate spaces . The pool was heated , bedrooms comfy and spacious . And the host was very easy to reach .

Wedding week retreat

This house was the perfect family retreat. We had a large crowd and a lot going on with our daughters wedding and there was room for everyone to have their own space but come together as well. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to book our next stay!

Family Wedding

We had to meet in NC for a wedding and this property was perfect for our large family of all ages! The house had the perfect amount of shared space areas to visit along with enough bedrooms that everyone had their own private space. The outside had everything you would need to stay entertained in any weather (we were there in December so we didnt get to use the pool but the outside games and firepit were excellent substitutions.) Fred took care of any questions we had quickly and left us feeling very comfortable and welcomed. We would def stay here again!

Best house in Wilmington

We were in Wilmington to celebrate 2 UNCW graduates
 the house was super clean, well organized, well stocked and everything was ‘ just right’. Plenty of thoughtful items as well ( extra blankets, great kids space, etc). We had such a comfortable stay and the spaces were perfect for our gathering. We are a VRBO ‘frequent flyer’ and this one is definitely in our top 3 ever! Highly recommend!

Excellent Location For a Large Group

Our stay at Your Own Private Paradise was excellent. The house accommodated a large party comfortably and had great amenities. Location of the property was excellent, about equal distance to the beach or downtown Wilmington. It was out of the main stream of town in a quite suburban neighborhood. Check in and out were simple and easy. The owner walked us through everything and was responsive to our questions.

Great stay!

Our family had a wonderful time staying at this home in Wilmington. The home was very clean and had so much space for our family. The back pool and yard area were fabulous. We had one very warm sunny weather day by the pool which was amazing. The heated pool made the pool swimmable for the kids on a cooler day. The home is located in a good neighborhood that is centrally located in Wilmington for easy access to everything! We highly recommend this home!

Great House/ Quiet Neighborhood

We were working on the USS NC for a week and stayed here with a total of 6 adults. House was spacious, very clean and lots of beds. We were all very comfortable. Neighborhood was very quiet. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property. Host was very easy to access. I would rent again 100%.

Wonderful!!! The two children positively loved the backyard and the Spider-Man bedroom. The house was very accommodating: comfortable, clean & neat, amply furnished and functional. Using Roku was challenging.

My husband and I both grew up in Raleigh, NC, and met while attending UNC-Wilmington. After spending a few years in Seattle for graduate school, we found our way back to Wilmington, a place we had come to love for its coastal beauty, friendly people, and laid-back lifestyle.
When we found this house, we immediately felt its potential. It had the warm, homey feel we were looking for and plenty of space for our family to grow, even if it came with a heavy dose of 1970s charm! So we rolled up our sleeves and began a full renovation, starting from the inside out. As our family grew with the addition of two boys, we knew we wanted this to be a place where loved ones could gather, visit, and make memories.
I poured my passion into gardening, transforming the yard into a peaceful retreat that we hope you’ll find just as relaxing and enjoyable as we do.
Being a host is a joy for us. We love sharing our home and our corner of Wilmington with others, and hope you’ll feel right at home during your stay.

We love being close to both nature and the city—whether it’s biking to a local coffee shop, heading out for a beach day, or catching a concert downtown, everything we enjoy is within reach.
There’s a real sense of community here, and it’s been the perfect place to plant roots, renovate our home, and grow our family.
