Awesome Summer!

We loved our time on Balboa Island. This cottage is quintessential experience. Easy walk to coffee and shops and the beach is right outside your door. Thanks for great stay! Note there is not a grill so bring small portable if desired.

Anxious to come back

We have stayed at this cottage several times and always hate to leave. It is so cozy and comfortable and you really can't beat Balboa Island as a vacation spot. If you want Southern California this is the place to go-- top of the line kitchen and amenities. Great neighborhood -- easy to walk the island and enjoy the outdoors.

Incredible stay!

Sherry’s home is absolutely beautiful and in the perfect location on Balboa Island, walking distance to everything and just a few houses down from Ruby beach. From the cleanliness, decor, amenities, it has it all! We have stayed in several properties on the island and this is by far our favorite! Sherry is an excellent host, so kind and helpful. You will not be disappointed with this amazing home!

Charming refurbished Balboa Cottage

Absolutely loved this home. We have stayed in dozens of homes on Balboa and this one is a favorite! Perfectly furnished. Only add I would suggest is an outdoor table and BBQ. Other than that 10+++++. Can’t wait to stay again.

Wonderful Two Weeks!

The property was exactly as advertised and we had a seamless two week stay. The cottage was so comfortable and we loved how the kitchen had no food items in the cupboard or refrigerator
.very clean. The location was perfect and we would definitely return. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the television cable service
we were only able to get a very basic cable selection with no streaming options.

Love Balboa!

We had an amazing stay on Balboa! Sherry was an excellent host- super quick with responses! She checked in a couple times leading up to the trip and confirming our reservation. She was able to get us an early check in upon arrival. Such a great host! The house was lovely. The location couldn’t be better- close the best spot for swimming for kids on the island, close to the ferry, and marine street. The rooms were all clean, laundry was convenient, and the kitchen was updated. The downstairs bathroom doesn’t have a shower in it, which was the only negative. The bathroom upstairs was new and the shower was great. Just a little tricky sharing with 4 other people. We will definitely be back! And would rent again!

Not suitable for families

We came here with our family and I would not recommend it for anyone with small children. The host did call our attention to the fact the master bedroom is downstairs and the secondary bedrooms are upstairs, which was the least of our issues. There were fragile decorations (too many to move to a safe height) throughout the property that made us feel unsafe to have a toddler around that could potentially damage them. Also, the kitchen does have pots & pans but did not have any basic kitchen cooking ingredients like oil, salt & pepper etc. so expect to purchase anything needed to make a meal. We decided to move out after 1 night because it was not possible to keep our daughter and the host's home safe. There was major work being done on the street in front of the house with loud, heavy machinery so I would inquire about the status of the street work before booking if you expect to spend time at the property during the daytime.

Family Holiday Stay

Balboa Fabulous

My husband two kids (13, 17) and I LOVED this vacation. The house is fabulous and had everything we could need - even beach chairs and towels. It is decorated beautifully. The owner is fabulously responsive. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is completely stocked. The house is 5 houses from the beach, on the best part of the island beaches and the only marked swimming area. PERFECT for hanging out on on the beach. The location is right in the middle of the main street and the the ferry street - so you can walk to every restaurant, shop, activity and the ferry. The garage is a huge bonus. Note there is only a tub downstairs, but we had plenty of time to get us all through the upstairs shower. It was a short drive to surrounding beaches, an Angels game and Disneyland. But most of all we loved spending time on the island. We'd love go come back!

Restful on Ruby

This is the most quaint, charming cottage you will find on the island. Perfectly situated off of north bay front, you can walk to Ruby beach, Marine or the ferry to hit the big surf. This is a great little beach cottage.

Beautiful House Great Location

I can't say enough about this home, it was clean and comfortable, decorated beautifully and fully equipped to meet all our needs. A great place to relax and a great place to keep busy to enjoy all the things Balboa Island has to offer. The location was really fun to be able to walk a few houses down to the bay beach, walk to town and walk to the ferry to enjoy the ocean. Thank you for sharing your home. We created such fun happy memories for our family and we will be back!

Absolutely beautiful find!

By far one of the best experiences we have had renting. Our family had a last minute trip and the owner was very accommodating with our timeline and really went above and beyond to make sure it was ready in time even thought we gave her a short notice. The cottage was very cozy and felt like our home away from home. Even more stunning than the pictures show, will definitely be our first choice to stay at when visiting the island from now on!

Amazingly Beautful Cottage

This house is just jaw dropping. You can tell the owners really take pride in keeping it nice as it is so well maintained and cared for. You can see the love. The description is spot on and the house is even more breath taking than the photos show! The owner was super sweet and easy to get ahold of. I highly recommend staying here while visiting. With town just a few streets away, we never left the island!
