Beautiful location. Private, close to the waterfall and many historic landmarks that were very interesting. The cottage was beautiful, great decor (you dont realise how much that improves your mood), comfortable bed and exactly the right amount of kitchen gadgets that are well kept. Dishwasher was a bonus (who wants to do dishes on their holiday), the fire was lovely and the spa was gorgeous and perfect for 2. We will be back.

So relaxing and historical

The property was clean and beautifully set up. The communication was quick and helpful and I loved the information in the cottage about the buildings history and the history of the area. Perfect relaxing get away.

Magic in the Mist

We had a fantastic getaway surrounded by misty rainy weather. The windmills in the mist made us feel like we were in a dystopian clouded futuristic land. We also enjoyed a walk at the Lal Lal Falls and a trip into Ballarat for a Beechworth Bakery breakfast. The cottage was cozy and warm with the fire licking the cold away and the tub soaking our tired bones! The two couches were a nice touch. We spent hours reading and crocheting with plenty of space! The shower was warm with lovely pressure and the bed was so comfortable I didn't wake until morning the first night. What a magic spot and a wonderful cottage!

Such a gorgeous cottage in a beautiful location. Very comfy and cosy, including the bed. Didn't use the spa (this time) but definitely will on my next visit. My favourite room was the sun room and I spent quite a bit of time reading in there. The location isnt far from Ballarat if you want to venture out. Although once I arrived, only left the cottage to go for a nice, long walk. Next time, will stay longer!

Our first & only choice for a weekend getaway

This was our 4th visit within the last 2 years & we’re always at peace the moment we arrive in the driveway. Cosy yet spacious little cottage that provides everything we need within a short distance. Thanks once again for providing simplistic but a truly comfortable & inviting place to stay amongst the serenity of Lal Lal. I’ve no doubt we will be back again!

We love this cottage

This was our second stay here and it’s perfect for the quick weekend getaway from the city. Peaceful and exactly what our soul needed. The host were amazing and really accommodating. The place is private and you feel like you are the only people around. So good! Thank you

Perfect cottage to enjoy a time of rest and relaxation away from the busyness of life.

We loved this cottage. It is in a quiet location and provides a place where you can totally relax both inside and out. It is very comfortable and just a perfect place for a few days to escape from the demands of a busy life.

Great little cottage close to Ballarat

We stayed for 3 nights and loved the property, especially the spa. The cottage was very spacious for 2 people. However the shower head was broken on arrival and wouldn't stay up. There is plenty of natural lighting into the cottage during the day with blinds on every window except for the bathroom. Also note there isn't an oven if you plan to use one. Overall we enjoyed our stay!!

My partner & I love visiting Lal Lal for an easy city getaway. The accomodation is cosy & all the surrounding areas are perfect for the photography, walks etc. Finally saw water flowing down Lal Lal falls which was a highlight! This was our third time staying here this year & we’ll be back again for sure! Thanks for making each stay memorable!

Overall we enjoyed our two night stay we’re not fussy people, the cottage is cozy in a quiet setting. Just a few extra touches would have made our stay a better one: - if fireplace was ready to light on arrival - if bath salts were provided with the spa - If shower door wasn’t broken with door stuck ajar - if better quality cooking utensils were provided to cook our breakfast - better quality bath towels and soap On arrival, we found the wood pile on front porch to prepare the fireplace but we couldn’t find any matches or newspaper to light it so we had a very cold 1st night. There’s another heater too but we couldn’t find the remote. The next day we called the owners and they were quick to help us find everything).
