We were very unhappy with the apartment and left early. I didn't want to have to leave this in a public review however the property manager has not responded. We stayed with a 3 year old and a 5 month old and the whole time we all felt dirty. Our reasons for complaint: Smoke alarms going off non-stop. 6 times before 10.30am one day. Cockroaches, at least 6 that we sighted and got rid of. Ants crawling up the walls in bedroom and through the beds. We suggest trying a pest control spray! Dirty appliances - we couldn’t use the sandwich press as it looked like it had never been cleaned and a broken oven - supposedly was being fixed during our stay but no one showed. Locks on doors - there are security locks on every door in the apartment. This is dangerous and a risk to safety. Keys were not provided. Soap scum through bathrooms and mould on shower heads and roof of bathrooms. Looks like a blood stain on one doona and the top sheets on the bed are stinky. Granted you sleep with sheets in between you but they were overdue for a wash! The floors and lounge rug is sticky/filthy and behind furniture is putrid." The cleanest item in the apartment was the dishwasher. The location is good, directly opposite Maroochy surf club - the only thing we felt it had going for it.

Dana, we did not see your message through the booking platform thus why you had no response. However, you did call our office on numerous occasions where we offered to help in any way we could and more than half of your review was never mentioned when you spoke with us on the phone. Firstly, with regard to the bathroom lock the owner has said this was an error on their part. But the rest of the locks in the unit are non-keyed. At the time when you rang about the locks we offered to get a locksmith but you didn’t want to wait for a locksmith. At the time of your stay it had been raining for weeks meaning insects (cockroaches and ants) could not be avoided. This entire building has a pest spray annually, but with the bad weather they tend to find their way inside. The oven situation was very unfortunately but beyond our control. We did everything we could to get the new oven installed in time for your booking but the appliance company couldn’t get the stock, which is something that everyone is experiencing Australia wide. It’s very unfortunate about the smoke alarms but at the time with the high humidity there were quite a few smoke alarms going off at properties which again is out of our control, but I understand this would have been annoying. After you vacated the owner attended to the following items: - New oven installed - Lock taken off bathroom door - Smoke alarms all changed - Bathroom door repaired (after being kicked in) It is disappointing that the owner has received a review like this on their property as most of these things were completely our of our control. Great location.

Very handy to patrolled beach, shops at Cotton Tree, walking paths, tennis club, library, river and restaurants. Did not concern us that there was no air conditioning, the sea breeze and pool was fine. We would have liked insect screens on the balcony doors though. Every other window was screened. Very clean and well equipped kitchen.

Could’ve been better

The location of this property was beautiful, the apartment was poorly cleaned, cockroaches were found on the floors, The bed mattresses were terrible, There is no air conditioner in this apartment, will not be staying in this apartment again...

If this ever occurs please call the agency and we will arrange the cleaner to come back to the property to clean. Unfortunately we cannot control nature so when cockroaches die in units in between cleans it is out of our control. This property was not advertised with air-conditioning..
