Le Shebeen - chien amical. Départ à midi.

Un «Shebeen» était une buvette illégale dans la vieille Irlande.

Maison confortable et spacieuse; parties de cricket dans la grande cour arrière; soirées passées sur le pont avec barbecue; marcher jusqu'à la plage par des pistes de brousse et de plage. À seulement quelques minutes en voiture des magasins, des restaurants et des attractions.

Linge de lit fourni pour les lits queen. Serviettes BYO et linge de lit pour lits superposés (mais peuvent être fournis par arrangement préalable et en supplément).

Remarque: Tous les draps fournis pour les réservations de 3 nuits ou plus

Localité

Endroit calme à Cowes West, près de Red Rocks Beach et Anderson St Boat Ramp.
La propriété donne directement sur la réserve de l'estran de Cowes, avec une promenade de 8 minutes via des pistes de brousse vous menant aux belles eaux calmes de Red Rocks Beach.

Idéal pour la natation, la plongée avec tuba, le kayak, le canoë, la pêche, etc.
Méfiez-vous des wallabies et de notre échidné local à travers la réserve et la colonie de pluviers à capuchon en voie de disparition lorsque vous arrivez à la plage.

Family Getaway

We had a lovely holiday. It was a very relaxing time for all at the house with a great yard for our dogs. The owner responded quickly to any questions and would gladly go again

Great communication from host. House is as described. A short walk to the beach through bush and about 7 minutes drive into town. Plenty of tech if the weather not so great and you need to stay in. We had great weather so didn't really use it.

Great place to stay with the family

We had a great time here with the extended family. I loved that the track to the beach was filled with butterflies and that there were no roads that we needed to cross. Beach is kid friendly. Town centre was close enough to ride to but a little far to walk. The house is set up nicely and we had a great time spending the nights playing cards on the back deck.

Christmas on the island

A most enjoyable family getaway was had at the Shebeen. We were greeted with a bottle of bubbly in the fridge which went down very well on Christmas morning! It was lovely sitting out on the deck on Christmas Day, having a bbq lunch. Other days were spent out there and also lazing about in the hammock and having margaritas on the picnic table under the shade of the umbrella. The deck and backyard really were the highlight of the property, as was the Phillip Island Coastal Reserve backing right onto the property. We frequently spotted the gorgeous local wallabies and some really interesting bird life. Red Rocks beach was great to go exploring and have a splash around in. Thanks Rosie!

Sheeben Review

We had a great time at the sheebeen (group of 10). House was fantastic with a great outdoor entertaining area and backyard. Backs directly onto a nature reserve and beach. Urban enough to be easily accessible but remote enough to make you feel you're in nature.

Amazing house!

Spent a weekend here with some friends had an absolute blast! Property was large with ample room and great extras like the fire pit and dart board! We were never bored and loved how the property backed onto a nature reserve! Will be staying here again

We all loved the house- it was perfect mix of beach house charm and comfort- with everything you could possibly need. We loved the National park and wallabies out the back- the kids had a great time exploring- and so did our dog! Thank you so much.

Fantastic extended family accommodation

The Shebeen was an awesome spot for our family to catch up and unwind. The back yard was secure for our dogs, the location close enough to the beach and the house had everything that we needed including baby equipment (high chair and camp cot). There was air con for the very hot days and plenty of fans to ensure everyone was cool. Rosemary was helpful but not hovering ........ we had the most wonderful week with our extended family and fur babies. Thanks Rosemary - we had the best week of holidays!

We really enjoyed our stay and found the beds were really comfortable and the area was really well set out and useable. The deck is great and we used the area a lot as it flowed well. Great location, dog-friendly, well equipped

My family (2 adults, 2 kids and a dog) spent a lovely weekend at the Shebeen in January 2016. The house is in a great location - we enjoyed our stroll from the back yard through the bush to the beach. We brought our elderly dog with us and it was comforting to know that he was secure while we explored other attractions on the island (Penguin Parade, A Maze 'N' Things). Dogs aren't allowed off-lead on the beach at the back of the property, but he loved his swim at the dog-beach at the end of Graydens Road. The owner, Rosie, was extremely helpful and accommodating. The house also offers lots of games, books etc and a fully equipped kitchen and laundry. Unfortunately we didn't have time to take full advantage of these, but this would be a perfect place for a large group to spend an extended holiday. Hopefully we will come back for a longer stay some time in the future.

We are Rosie and Peter, The Irish connection is Rosie, who hails from Donegal but has called Australia home since 1989.

We live in Melbourne, but are only a phone call away if you need help or have any questions. In an emergency we have supportive friends nearby who can assist you. The keys to the house are accessed via a key safe, which you will be provided the code for, along with full instructions for the house.

We love to travel and know the importance of having a comfortable, clean place to stay. The Shebeen is not fancy, but it is relaxing. It is in Cowes, (with all the benefits of shops and restaurants close by) but is very quiet and crowd free, even in high season.

The Shebeen backs onto a reserve. An 8 minute walk on bush and beach tracks takes you to Red Rocks Beach.

You will see the local Wallabies (not for very long as they bound away) but sometimes they come up and watch us through the back fence.
