Cette propriété familiale et entièrement clôturée est proche d'un magnifique terrain de jeux, d'un skate park et de la bibliothèque. L'espace de vie extérieur agréable offre un endroit confortable pour se détendre.
Il y a beaucoup de bons endroits à explorer dans et autour de Takaka. Il y a le célèbre Wholemeal Cafe, The Dangerous Kitchen qui sert de délicieuses pizzas et d'autres excellents plats, le Roots Bar vend des bières artisanales, des tapas et des hamburgers. Ces endroits sont à distance de marche de la maison. Vous pouvez conduire un peu et visiter le célèbre Mussel Inn qui est un endroit génial pour la bière et un repas. Il y a de nombreuses plages fabuleuses à Golden Bay. Vous pouvez faire du kayak, du paddle board, de l'équitation, de la marche dans le parc national Abel Tasman, nager sur les plages ou dans les rivières, aller à la pêche, visiter les sources les plus pures de l'hémisphère sud, marcher jusqu'à la plage de Wharariki et observer les phoques.

A lovely, clean, spacious house sandwiched between a carpark fence and main street shop. Very comfortable beds and the kitchen was brilliant. There were two heating options. A log fire or heat pump. We chose the latter as the house was very cold even during the day when the sun shone, as not much sun actually made its way into the house. We were sitting on the deck in a sliver of sunlight, chatting to a local friend who had popped in to say Hi and all of a sudden a man appeared on the deck with his dog questioning us as to why we had the heat pump on. Apparently, he was one of the house managers! He was rude, made snide remarks like how about we turned it off or shut the door (it had just been opened and inadvertently not shut). We were shocked to have a man and big dog appear like this and all agreed it was totally inappropriate. How did they even know? Were they spying on us or monitoring heat pump use? Anyway, it left a really unpleasant feeling for us and we left early the next day.Was a real shame as we'd had such a lovely time in Takaka.

Thanks for your review and feedback! As hosts, we genuinely love greeting our guests. Since we hadn't heard back from our earlier message, we stopped by briefly to ensure you had everything you needed. Our friendly dog usually tags along, which our guests almost always enjoy, but we appreciate that everyone has different preferences. We take a lot of pride in keeping the house warm and cozy. We set the wood place ready to light with plenty of extra firewood supplied, and the heat pump is available for quick heat—though like any heat pump, it struggles to warm a house if the doors are left open! Previous guests frequently comment on how quick and cozy the place gets once the fire is roaring. We appreciate you staying with us and wish you all the best on your future travels.

Great time in Takaka

This property was great- homely and comfortable with everything we needed. Right in the middle of town, close to good food and coffee it was perfectly placed. Would definitely stay again!

Great spot

The place was well looked after. We enjoyed our stay very much. Owner was lovely and helpful. Gave it a four rather than a five as the beds were too soft for us.

Central Location

This is a great house right in the center of town—walking distance to the restaurants, cafes, and supermarket. We loved using the wood stove in the lounge room, as it was a little cold while we were there.

Relaxing stay in Takaka

We loved our stay in this very relaxing townhouse. It has everything you need and a wonderful location, so close to town and lots to explore in the area. Ute is an excellent host and we appreciated receiving lots of helpful information. It was wonderful to bring our little dog. We would love to stay here again. Highly recommend!

Making Memories in Golden Bay

There is so much to explore in Golden Bay, with Takaka being such a central location. With this house being so central within Takaka - so close to cafes and restaurants, and having all we needed for a great holiday - including a sleepout for the teenagers. From Salmon fishing to great beaches to clothe shopping with a hippie vibe. All around a great five days. Would be keen to stay again.

Perfect location and very accommodating of our needs

Great place for my toddler and my mother! Well equipped kitchen for cooking at home, lovely host who was friendly and very happy to help with extra requests. Great to have high chairs and a cot. Awesome playground just behind the house too. Hopefully will be back. :)

Takaka delight

We really loved staying here despite an initial surprise at there not being a tv or microwave. The host quickly sorted the microwave and with so many games and magazines to read we certainly didn’t miss tv. It made it a real break. The host was very friendly and helpful. We would certainly recommend this place.

Delightful

Our stay was everything we needed. The house was warm and clean and quiet.The sleepout was an unexpected bonus and so cosy. Loved being able to step up onto the main street and into a cafe.The house has been thoughtfully filled with books toys games and hand made treasures. Thank you Ute I hope we can stay again.

Lovely home base

The property was great. The location is central. We didn't find it that easy to find intially, as there is a vine covering the fence, so it doesn't appear as the photo in the listing. But we found it in the end. There was a Saturday market at our door which was lovely. We had to move our car for that, which was not a problem. Ute is a lovely helpful host. We lacked a piso for lighting the gas and a tea strainer and she got those to us which was great.

Back to basics in Golden Bay.

This property gives you a great chance to step back in time and experience earlier life in Takaka. Beautiful wooden floors and high ceilings are supported with a powerful fireplace and heat pump. Get back to nature, cooking over gas rather than using microwave, and crack open a book rather than use wifi. The main bedroom is fairly quiet after 9:30pm when the neighbouring asian restaurant turn off their cooking gear. Bring an eye mask if you are sensitive to street lights, as the carpark behind the property is lit throughout the night. We enjoyed five sunny days in Takaka, trips around the coast and mooching about the main streets. It's worth a short stay here in the middle of 'town', before heading out to the coasts for a seaside escape. Very good communication, and and always, grateful to be able to bring our dog.

Thanks David for the feedback. We are currently working with the owner of the new Asian restaurant to address the issue with their cooking gear and the sound problem should be fixed soon. We are also adding thicker curtain to ensure that our guests have an enjoyable stay. Your feedback was very helpful.
