We again apologize for the hot tub not being in working order as happens on rare occasion, and we notified you as soon as we learned of the issue from our property manager, which contrary to your review was prior to check in. We offered to refund a portion of your payment as well as to allow you to cancel your reservation and provide a full refund due to the issue, neither of which you acknowledged. The hot tub was empty as the property manager had to drain it to work on the repairs. As it relates to the location of the cabin, “incredibly dangerous terrain” is an overstatement. We are located on a mountain and four wheel drive or chains are necessary in the winter, which is clearly stated in the VRBO listing and communicated several times prior to check in. Many others have traveled to our cabin without issue as indicated in the other reviews. As mentioned, there are several cameras located outside of the cabin, a pretty common setup these days and well within our rights as the property owner and host. The cameras allow us to keep an eye on the property while we are not there and as was the case with you, ensure guests are not violating house rules by doing things such as bringing a dog. If that’s what you’re referring to as “creepy” messages, we were simply notifying you of the additional charge for violating the house rules. In addition to bringing a dog, you ignored check out time staying several hours late without permission. What you failed to mention in your review was the absolutely deplorable condition you left the house in upon departure...staining and ultimately ruining multiple sets of sheets, towels, and pillows, tearing and ruining several throw pillows, and severely denting and damaging multiple areas of the hardwood stairs, flooring, and wood walls. The feeling is mutual, we do not recommend you as a guest.
