Charming rustic cottage with private patio & garden area provides the ideal peaceful setting in Waimate North, an area steeped in history.
Upstairs, a queen & two king singles. Downstairs a modern kitchen with everything you need, including washing machine. Through french doors to an outside patio with sunshade there is table seating for 6 and a BBQ. Surrounded by natives and gardens, it is the perfect space to enjoy time with friends and family after a day of. exploring the beautiful Bay of Islands.
Wifi, games, parking for a boat and easy access to Paihia, Kerikeri and Waitangi make it ideal for couples, friends or families.

A great long stay

We stayed 2 months at Jane and Craig cottage. They were very welcoming and made sure we do not miss anything. We felt almost like home. We appreciated the backyard, the light and the country. There was enought place for the family.

A lovely clean and comfy cottage with everything we needed and very kind hosts. We felt very welcome and enjoyed the gardens and space. The area is very well positioned for discovering Northland. Jane and Craig were lovely and even brought my washing in before an unexpected rainstorm. I intend to book the cottage again for my next Northland visit.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect for exploring the area, and the house itself is lovely—warm, welcoming, and well equipped with everything we needed. The spacious living area and well-stocked kitchen made it easy to relax and feel at home. The bedrooms were beautifully presented with very comfortable beds, just what we needed after a busy day out. The property is private and peaceful, surrounded by beautiful gardens. We would definitely stay here again!

Home away from home

Fantastic cottage with everything we needed, including some games and story books for the kids. Room to kick a ball around, chickens to visit and dogs to play fetch with. Happy memories. We look forward to coming back again one day.

Peace and quiet

The property and surroundings were beautiful. The cottage was neat, clean and equipped with everything needed. To get access to the cottage was effortless. The owners were very friendly. A little piece of heaven to get away from the business of every day life. Thank you for an amazing time.

Great Rural Location Accommodation

The rural property location in central Bay of Islands was ideal for access throughout the North (N,E,S&West). Well presented modern family home with spacious living areas (Kitchen & Lounge). Modern kitchen facilities - whilst no oven that was not an issue. Upstairs bedrooms of more than adequate size. Great place to stay for family of adults.

Truly peaceful

If you're looking for a clean, quiet place to stay, Waimate Cottage is a great option. It's a lovely rural area, but still close to amenities in the area.

Everything we needed and more

We were visiting friends in the neighbourhood so location was perfect. The beautiful cattle grazing just at the edge of the property certainly added to the charm of it. The property had all we needed for a short stay. It was clean, warm and cozy and the internet was great. It was also great to have Netflix for nights. Jane and Craig were great hosts, very friendly and helpful and their friendly lab Maia was a welcome playmate for our dog. My children were wishing we could stay longer. If we're looking to stay in the neighbourhood again, we will definitely be back.

Craig and Jane moved from Auckland 9 years ago to enjoy the lifestyle that the Bay of Islands has to offer. After Craig built the new house we decided to share the cottage so that guests could come and have a little piece of paradise as well. We love to welcome new visitors and try to give them the best experience that we can. Craig is retired builder and Jane works at the doctors in Kerikeri part time along with many other projects. We enjoy our grandchildren, our dogs, our garden and being involved with the local community.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

The scene is rural countryside. Often there are cattle in the paddock next door. Despite having dogs there is an abundance of bird life. The private patio off the french doors are surrounded by gardens. The area is steeped in history with the 1st mission church just a short walk away. Perfectly positioned for Kerikeri, Paihia and Waitangi all within 20mins there is so much to do plus our very own geothermal hot pool just 10mins away at Ngawha Springs. We enjoy the fresh air, the peace and country living.

Beautiful setting and easy access to all the attractions and activities the area has to offer. Dog friendly allows the whole family to enjoy time together. Plus there is a beautiful Barn wedding venue within walking distance at the Bay of Islands A & P Showground.
