Sea Isle is a beautiful community, located about 12 miles from Galveston's seawall, often referenced as the West End. It has that laid back beach flavor perfect for your getaway. One of the popular neighborhood hot spots is the West End Restaurant & Marina which frequently offers live music, plenty of tvs airing different sporting events/games, good food, and tasty cold beverages. There is also access to the public beaches (3), boat ramp, marina, park, basketball courts, seasonal swimming pool (Sea Isle POA charges $100/week for amenity pass, available from the office during normal business hours, with advanced notice by 979's staff, Memorial Day through Labor Day, subject to change) and tennis courts, so guests get an opportunity to experience the benefits of both the Gulf and Bay sides of the island.
Getting Around:
The Sea Isle community offers a small convenience store by the Marina, Sea Isle Supermarket, located on Termini-San Luis Pass at Nueces Drive. Heading back towards Galveston and just before Jamaica Beach is a Chevron convenience store, Seven Seas Grocery if you need extra items or forgot something while in town. Also, you'll find in Jamaica Beach, West Grill & Pizzeria, Buck’s West, Shrimp & Stuff Food Truck then Dollar General, Waterman’s Restaurant, Hummel’s Convenience Store & Deli, Mario’s Pizza, Woody’s Bar, Lucky Way Food, Gas & Liquor Store, Seahorse Grill and Jack’s Pub before you get to Galveston's seawall.

When you rent a 979 home, you'll also receive the 'comforts of home' guest welcome starter supply of shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, tp and paper towels, dishwasher and clothes washer pods. We want your stay to be as easy as you do, and the 979 Crew aims to deliver on that commitment. We love our island guests!
WIFI/TV SERVICE:
Our properties include WIFI/Internet and TV service for your streaming services. Due to our location (Island living is a whole other way of life), service may be unpredictable or spotty, and repair times can be delayed. While we will do everything we can to ensure these items are in good working order before your arrival, please note, these services may not be as consistent as they are in your area. So grab your favorite people, ditch the electronics, and spend the day at our beautiful beaches!
979 VACATION PROPERTY SERVICES:
All 979 rental home follow local and state tax rules. Reservations may be booked up to 365 days in advance. Please send inquiry and details if more than a year out as rates and availability may not be updated. Each reservation includes applicable taxes, a cleaning fee, $1M liability protection and $10K damage insurance - and good news, No Security Deposit Required!
CANCELLATION POLICY:
When booking direct with 979, you may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. Some exceptions may apply for last-minute reservations. After 24 hours, cancel at least 30 days before your check-in and receive a refund in your original form of payment less a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations within 30 days of check-in are non-refundable.
Reservations made on 3rd party channels/OTAs such as Airbnb, VRBO, Booking, Hopper etc may be subject to terms and conditions which may be different than 979's. When booking through a 3rd party channel, the cancellation policy you agreed to at the time of booking is the cancellation policy on your reservation.

This property was even better than expected. The rooms/bed arrangement worked well for our extended family and the home was well supplied with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. (Our only suggestion would be to add some serving bowls rather than all platters.) We’ve been staying in the Sea Isle community for over 20 years and chose this home when our favorite, repeat stay homes were already taken. That’s ok - we have a new favorite and hope to stay here again!

The sliding glass door was NOT locked when we arrived. The house was nice size and amenities like kayaks (which we used), and plenty of kitchen accessories. The only bad things we can say are carpet seemed stained especially on stairs and master and seemed to have a musty smell. If entire house had wood/tile floors, it probably wouldn’t be so musty. Thankfully as a/c ran the smell lessened.

We’re sorry to hear about your concerns upon arrival. The sliding glass door should absolutely have been locked. We did want to mention that coastal homes experience constant exposure to salt air, humidity, and shifting temperatures, which can sometimes cause exterior doors to swell slightly and become a bit tricky to latch or lock properly. That said, guest safety is very important to us, and we’ll continue keeping an eye on it.
Regarding the carpeting and smell, we understand that coastal environments can feel different from inland homes due to the humidity in the air. We have not had other guests report concerns with the carpets or odors, but we always appreciate feedback.

Seas the Day is exactly what we were looking for: Great location, extremely clean and very comfortable. We had a few small glitches, but the property manager was extremely quick in responding to our needs. We would definitely like to stay there again!

Great trip
The place was nice, although the shower in the king bedroom did not work. The kitchen was a galley kitchen and it was hard to navigate. Overall it was nice and close to beach. I would definitely stay there again.

Property was great. Access to garage and water toys was perfect. Very clean and tidy. Kids fished off the dock. Watched the parade. Recommend getting a golf cart for your stay as there is easy travel around neighborhood on one.

Disappointing
Needs some care. Tiny downstairs bedroom has a rug under the bed that is curled and is easy to trip over. The kitchen cookware is so old and damaged. If you are a senior beware you cannot use the lift and have to carry luggage and cooler up and down a very steep staircase. Bugs in the kitchen! This house is located 30 minutes from downtown and we spent a lot of time driving. Neighbors across the bay have a very bright green fish light pointed at the deck. We did enjoy coffee on the deck before the green light in our eyes and it is a short walk to the beach.

Thank you for allowing us to host you, although it sounds like your selection of a bay island home just wasn't the right match for your and your group. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed your morning coffee on the deck and the quick walk to the beach.
We do want to clarify a few points for future guests. This home is very well-maintained, and the small downstairs bedroom rug is positioned to protect the flooring — but we will certainly check to be sure it’s lying flat. The kitchen cookware is regularly inspected and replaced as needed, though we understand preferences vary. As noted in the listing, the cargo lift is not available for guest use for safety reasons, and stairs are just part of the home’s coastal design.
As with all homes on the Texas coast, the occasional appearance of bugs is possible despite our regular and professional pest control schedule. We haven't had any other guest mention the green light across the bay being a nuisance, in fact rather quite the opposite for those guests enjoying fishing (and catching) right off the dock.
We appreciate your feedback and hope you enjoyed the beauty of the area, even if bay island living was a little different than expected.

Very Nice Property
The property is extremely nice, even more than what the pictures showed. I think the pictures made the house look older. The only thing is this particular property had really high additional fees compared to a lot of other places. Probably would not return due to the higher fees. I would rather they just make their nightly rate higher, since the total increased substantially due to the very high extra fees that were tacked on.

Thank you for allowing us to host you for a weekend and glad you found the home extremely nice! We appreciate the 5-stars, compliments and feedback. While your preference to have all rolled into the the nightly rate, In the interest of transparency and as other guests prefer, we do line item the cleaning, supply stocking and accidental damage fees-same dollars and cents. We do not charge a security deposit. Also, our fees are the same whether you stay 2 nights or 10, as a full house clean is a full house clean regardless of length of stay, and you only stayed 2 nights. Perhaps a longer stay would make for a more proportionate for you? As for VRBO's service fee, that is between you as the guest and VRBO, of course. Thank you again for allowing us to host you and glad the home overdelivered!

Great stay
Super clean. Deck and view was great. Problem with with ac was handled quickly and efficiently. We all enjoyed our visit. Would have been nice to have the toilet seat in guest bathroom fit and grab rails for the down stairs bathroom but that’s about it. Great place

Fun & Relaxing
The place was great! Easy access to the beach. A little grocery store down the corner. And a 20 minute drive to the Pleasure Pier. The ONLY negative comment I have is the dock ladder. It has a build up of shells on the bottom rung that my kids cut their feet on. Other than that we will definitely stay again!

Thank you for the 5-stars and great tips for future guests! As for the ladder, if left in the water, even if just for the night, oysters/barnacles build up on it. It's crazy fast how quickly those buggers take hold. Water shoes are definitely recommended (sorry about the kiddos feet) and pulling up the ladder after use. Thanks again!
