Peaceful getaway

Property was well maintained, the rooms were lovely, big enough for large family and guests, kitchen was fully equipped. Very well prepared accommodation. Relaxing place to spend some time away from the city.

Comfy and spacious

This is our second stay at this house and it’s still just as lovely. From the little touches of oil and herbs in the kitchen, availability of fancy cheese plates and snuggly blankets to the overall features of the house the stay here feels cozy, comfortable and quiet while still being a short hop away from fun activities and wine tasting. Two living spaces, spacious dining and indoor and outdoor relaxation areas plus a bedroom each means we will be back again.

Lovely out-of-the-way cottage

There are 5 beautifully appointed bedrooms and two entertainment rooms, side by side, that could accommodate a number of people. We particularly loved the outside space, which was fully enclosed with fly scenes so that we could enjoy the outside air without the flies or mosquitoes. There were wild kangaroos, which came right up to the backyard on one morning. It’s only 5 minutes from Branxton, which has a supermarket, bakery and butcher, but is otherwise out of the way so it was very peaceful with no traffic or other similar noises. We very much enjoyed our stay.

The cottage is lovely and has a lovely aspect. Location is good and not far to wineries etc. Bathroom is not renovated and not heated so absolutely freezing in winter. We weren’t left enough dry firewood for the 2 nights we stayed but the air conditioning in the living area works well and all the beds all had electric blankets which was a nice touch. Unfortunately at the time of booking we were a party of 3 but as the house accommodated 10 we had some friends join us. This resulted in unexpected additional charges after we returned home as apparently the advertised price is only for 4 people. This is not clear in the description of the property and you can only see additional charges if you enter more than 4 guests when booking. I haven’t used stayz many times but this was quite misleading and very disappointing experience.

We highly encourage guests to read through all details provided on the Stayz site so that misunderstandings do not impact your stay. We do note in the property description that only a starter amount of firewood is provided, as different groups use varying amounts of firewood. Stayz has provided a great platform to provide a quote for the correct number of guests if it is used correctly. I have not had issues with people who have booked accommodation for the correct number of guests not understanding the costs. Unfortunately, those who add to the number of guests without communicating it, impact their own experience. I highly recommend providing feedback to Stayz on the user-friendliness aspect of their site. If all else fails and technology is not your friend, it is easy to clarify doubts with the host before your stay through the online message facility. Questions are free and we are more than happy to provide all the information you need to make your stay comfortable and trouble free for all.
