The house was nice and very close to the beach. Several issues with the house though. Upstairs ac never worked correctly even after two visits from maintenance. Power went out twice. Overall amenities listed on VRBO were not accurate, such as the picture showing two swings plus a disc swing, as well as the elevator to bring up luggage and groceries were absent. There is one swing. Dishwasher was broken but we were aware of this the day before we checked in. There were extra items in the house for use which was nice (dish detergent, extra towels, etc)

We recognize that the maintenance concerns and unexpected power outages affected your experience. The power interruptions were related to a neighborhood outage and were outside of our control. Accurate amenity information is important when planning a stay. The disc swing was removed for safety reasons, and the outdated elevator photo has since been removed from the listing to help ensure the details provided are accurate. We remain committed to maintaining the property and providing guests with a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Place was nice enough. However, had expected each bedroom to have a bath; but one was located downstairs. Furthermore, would not consider this a good place for older adults. Stairs to bedrooms were pretty steep and elevator only went to second floor.

Perfect beach house, steps from the beach

This beach house was perfect for my little crew. Steps from the beach, and the house came with plenty of towels and full prepped for guest! Cant wait to book again. The host was great and provided plenty of instructions throughout our stay. The neighborhood was quiet and perfect. Note: be sure to bring plenty of water to cook with and drink.

PLEASANT BEACH STAY

Short walk to the beach, the lift was a must for us and worked out perfectly for transporting beach gear as well as us. The back deck is nice to sit and have morning coffee with a south wind blowing off the Gulf and the Pelicans floating in the sky. BUT Bring your mosquito spray…when the wind isn’t blowing the mosquitos are big people eaters.

Everything is all locked up and tidy. I am a Real Estate Broker and General Contractor. I build cabins in Broken Bow, OK and have quite a bit of experience as a property manager. I also travel a great bit. That being said, I am very impressed with this beach house, the construction, the amenities and the hospitality.

Perfect Beach Getaway Spot

This house was perfect for our getaway. Very close to beach access with great views. Could see our beach set up from the house. Loved that 2 of the bedrooms had the bathrooms in the rooms, we travelled with another couple so the private bathrooms for each couple was a bonus. 2 of the 3 bedrooms had porches along with porches on the front side and back side in the common space - all with ocean views. Depending on wind and sun, you could be on either porch with a great view! The living room area was spacious with enough seating for all of us. House was clean and had all the amenities needed. Highly recommend and we can't wait to go back.

Amazing place to stay

This house was great, it had everything we needed and was about 2 minute walk to the beach. The house manager was nice and polite and very prompt with texting back. If I had any complaints they would be that there was no tv in the kids room, but the manager I spoke with said she was already planning on putting one in. The only other thing would be the grill was pretty dirty and I had to do a little more cleaning on it than I would have liked. I would definitely go back.

This property was great! It was very close to the beach, very clean and had all of the amenities you might expect plus more- bed and kitchen linens and towels as well! The steps to the upper floor were very steep, however, for those with any difficulty in mobility. It was not divulged at the time we rented the house that the "service fee" was actually an additional booking fee which VRBO charges the property owners (Evolve) for allowing this property to be shown on the VRBO website, so go to Evolve and rent DIRECTLY from them.

There are pros and cons of this stay. Overall it was great, our family enjoyed our stay very much. The water is always yucky at the beach. For anyone traveling here in the future, that's how it is! Bring your own water to boil, drink and brush teeth. Showering, you have no choice, but you'll live. Pros: very good location, steps away from the beach which made it easy to go back to the house if we forgot something. The host was super friendly and had amazing communication the whole time. The house had 3 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms which was perfect for our family. Porch had a beautiful view. House is decorated very nice and organized. Free smart TV and games were utilized and thoroughly enjoyed. Complimentary coffee was also enjoyed.Cons: although a grill was provided, it was dirty and broken (we were still able to use it). A couple door knobs were almost falling off in the house. The AC wasn't adjustable at all. Set at a constant 72. The floors were a little dirty upon arrival. The water stinks and you have to bring your own water to drink, boil and brush teeth (we knew this beforehand, but its still yucky).

From the Owner: Hello Danielle! I’m saddened to hear about the barbecue—it was brand new, purchased just two months ago at the beginning of the season. As for the floors, I’ll definitely follow up with housekeeping. They were just installed in February of this year, so there shouldn’t be any residue.Regarding the water situation, I’m fully aware—it’s an ongoing issue with the City of Surfside Beach, and they are working to resolve it. I also make sure to inform all guests in the welcome text to bring bottled water."

Host Admitted 'Huge Issue' with Water, Our Family Got Sick

`Our stay was ruined by a severe and undisclosed issue with the property's water supply. From the moment we arrived, all taps emitted a strong, sewage-like odor, making the water unusable for drinking, cooking, or even washing our hands without the smell lingering.When we contacted the local host, she admitted in a text message that this was a known and "huge issue" affecting the property. This critical safety information was never disclosed to us before booking.The unsanitary conditions had a direct impact on our family's health. Our young son developed a fever and had to be taken to a medical provider during our stay. I also became sick and required an urgent care visit immediately after we returned home.Most disappointing was the response from Evolve. Despite providing them with the host's own admission of the "huge issue" and our medical documentation, they refused to take any meaningful responsibility for the hazardous conditions. They downplayed the severity of the problem and ultimately denied our claim for a refund.A vacation should be a safe experience. This property was not safe, and the lack of accountability from the management company was appalling. We cannot recommend this property to any family. Please be aware of what you are booking.`

Perfect Getaway

We enjoyed spending Thanksgiving at the beach! The house and all amenities were just as noted and even better! We enjoyed watching the World Cup games on both comfy couches.

Great Beach Getaway

A great family home! The grandchildren loved their bedroom with the sea wall mural and a ship bell to ring. The other 2 bedrooms had good size balconies. From one of the balconies, you had a great view of the beach and ocean waves. My husband can't walk far and enjoyed watching the children play on the beach from a comfortable chair on the balcony. We highly recommend this home for families with children. All 3 bedrooms are located on the second floor and the kitchen and living room are on the first floor. The stairs might be difficult for those with mobility issues, but otherwise a great vacation home. The owner was most helpful and responded back quickly. Sand toys, a boogie board, a wagon and beach chairs were an added bonus also. We hope to return next year.

Relaxing fun at the beach

This property is perfect for small groups of all ages and comes with many extras: beach towels, sand toys, boogie boards, basic kitchen supplies and multiple balconies to relax on. Close to the shore for easy access. Many games for indoor fun.
