The Space:

El Cuyo is one of the Yucatán Peninsula’s best-kept secrets. This small fishing village offers true tranquility—the ideal place to disconnect, slow down, and reconnect with nature. With minimal light pollution, the nights here are spectacular. If your stay coincides with a new moon, you may experience a night sky filled with stars in a way that feels both rare and unforgettable. And in El Cuyo, you’re lucky enough to enjoy both sunrises and sunsets over the water.



Casa Sukha is thoughtfully designed for families or groups of friends seeking a peaceful escape surrounded by nature. The property consists of two separate, single-level spaces—the Main House and the Rear Suite—together accommodating up to 7 adults and 2 children. Both spaces feature a relaxed beach style, open layouts, large windows that fill the interiors with natural light, cooling ocean breezes, and a strong connection to the outdoors.

Main House



The Main House offers a bright, welcoming, and open atmosphere, comfortably accommodating up to 4 adults and 2 children.

- Direct access to the front porch, furnished with outdoor seating and a hammock.

- Fully equipped kitchen with a double sink, oven, stove, coffee maker, toaster, blender, and all necessary cookware.

- Breakfast bar with seating for four, which also serves as a laptop-friendly workspace.

- Seamless connection to one of the highlights of the home: the spacious outdoor palapa, featuring seating for eight, lush greenery, and a hammock—perfect for long meals, quiet afternoons, and relaxed evenings.



Sleeping Arrangements – Main House



Bedroom 1: Queen bed with an en-suite bathroom.

Bedroom 2: Queen bed with an en-suite bathroom.



Both bedrooms include A/C, ceiling fans, closets, and private bathrooms.



Rear Suite/Back room



The Rear Suite offers complete privacy from the Main House and comfortably accommodates up to 3 adults.



Bedroom 3: Two double beds.



The Rear Suite offers a relaxed, self-contained layout, making it ideal for couples, friends, or guests who prefer additional privacy.



Example Sleeping Arrangement for 7 Adults



For groups of 7 adults, the sleeping arrangement is:



Main House: 4 adults—2 sharing the queen bed in the master bedroom and 2 sharing the queen bed in the second bedroom.

Rear Suite/Back room: 3 adults—2 sharing one double bed and 1 adult using the adjacent double bed.

The village’s small size makes it easy to walk to the pier, the main square, and a handful of local restaurants serving fresh, locally caught seafood.



If you’re seeking simplicity, space, and a deep sense of calm, Casa Sukha offers a rare and authentic escape—one that invites you to slow down, embrace the natural surroundings, and reconnect with what matters.

You'll have exclusive access to both houses including the huge palapa and outdoor dining area and patios.



The Neighborhood:

As you cross the bridge over the lagoon to El Cuyo, you’ll see tons of pink flamingos, so get your camera ready! Then, as you enter the little town (don’t worry, it’s almost impossible to get lost), you’ll notice a few little restaurants and a couple of mom-and-pop shops where you can buy some essentials and snacks if needed. *Note: there are no big grocery stores, no ATMs, and alcohol sales are limited. So you may want to think ahead and pack what you need and bring it with you!



This quaint little charming town has a main square (el zócalo) with local restaurants that offer the freshest, daily-caught seafood! If not into seafood, other places have anything from pizza to burgers to traditional Mexican dishes. The best part is that everything is within walking distance!

- Anahata Café & Bistro (breakfast cafe steps away)

- Naia Café & Restaurant (breakfast, lunch, coffee, smoothies)

- Casa Cuyo (just 3 blocks from the backside of the house)

- El Chile Gordo (Great for exquisite Mexican food, with an 8-course menu. Reservation is required.)

- Casa Palma (Pizza & pasta with an Argentinian flair, located on the west side of the pier, 4 blocks away)



Here are two very famous nearby nature ATTRACTIONS:

- RIO LAGARTOS (1 hour 30 minutes or 97 km | 60 mi away) – a protected biosphere reserve that is home to many species of birds, most famously known for flamingoes. It’s a bird watcher's heaven!

- LAS COLORADAS (1 hour 45 minutes or 115 km | 71 mi away). If you haven’t heard of Las Coloradas, well, it’ll now be on your bucket list for sure! The cotton-candy pink-colored lakes are filled with salt and mined twice a year. Note that there is parking at the lakes and an entrance fee.



WATER SPORTS & Other Activities

- Kitesurfing (the uncrowded shallow waters, wind, and perfect conditions at El Cuyo’s semi-virgin beaches make it a dream spot for kitesurfing!), boat tours, snorkeling and scuba Diving, ATV/Quad tours & of course, watch the sunset from the pier! You can get sunsets and sunrises in El Cuyo!



Getting Around:

When in El Cuyo, you definitely won’t need a car because everything is within walking distance. However, if you plan to visit neighboring areas like Las Coloradas or Río Lagaratos, renting a car at the Cancun airport is suggested. If you arrive by car, there are 2 free parking spots on the premises.



The property is located approximately 3 hours (164 km/102 mi) from the Cancun (CUN) airport. The best way to get to El Cuyo (if not renting a car) is to prearrange transportation with a driver. If you have any questions or need assistance just ask! We’re here to help.

**The maximum capacity of this house is 7 adults and 2 children.**

**The washer is temporarily unavailable until further notice.**



*PLEASE NOTE: El Cuyo is a tiny town. There are no big grocery stores, no ATM, and very few places accept credit or debit cards, and alcohol sales are limited. So you may want to think ahead and pack what you need and bring it with you!



*ALSO NOTE: The area is a Natural Reserve with a fragile ecosystem so it’s very important to follow the instructions for maintaining the septic system and managing garbage. Guests will receive a video upon booking that explains garbage separation and waste management. You can only dispose of toilet paper in the toilets. The septic system in El Cuyo is not strong enough. Please use the trash bin provided for anything other than toilet paper. We and El Cuyo thank you in advance!



- Wi-Fi, flat-screen Smart TV w/satellite, bed linens, beach essentials like a beach bag and a portable beach shade sail, beach and bath towels, and 2 parking spots are provided complimentary during your stay.



- We offer added services like preparing delicious fresh ceviche and other seafood specials for you, and we can also help you with tours, birdwatching, kitesurf lessons, and more. Just ask our on-site groundskeepers, Ana and Lupe. They’d be happy to help!



- We kindly ask that you respect the house rules as well as the waste management protocols.

- Guests will be requested to sign a Rental Agreement upon booking confirmation.

- A security deposit may be required prior to arrival or at check-in, subject to the booking platform used to make the reservation. This fee is charged as a credit card transaction and refunded after check-out, provided all terms are met.



HOUSE RULES

- Travelers must be at least 21 years of age or older to book.

- No smoking of any kind is allowed on the premises. Smoking tobacco, cannabis or the use of any recreational drugs in the house is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply will incur a $300 penalty.

- No parties or events are permitted, illegal activity is prohibited, and excessive noise won't be tolerated. No loud music is allowed after 10 pm. Please be respectful of the neighbors.

- No more guests than those listed in your reservation are allowed.

- No tent or other structures may be set up on the grounds of the property.

- Renters agree to cover any charge related to damages that occurred during their stay or cover necessary extra-cleaning charges if such is needed after their stay.

- Renters may be required to provide a government ID on the day of checking in or during your stay.

-Please respect the house rules and waste management rules shared prior to your arrival.

- Please avoid moving furniture.

- Pets are not allowed.



Interaction with Guests:

This is a self-check-in accommodation with a lockbox. You will be given the access code 24 hours before check-in.
