Amazing place. The creek running under the house makes it so enjoyable. Relax and sleep by the sounds of running water. It's very audible all over the house.

The location is great and the cabin and property were cute, private, and relaxing. The downside was the cleanliness. The kitchen especially was not very clean and we found mouse poop in the kitchen cupboards. Regardless, we would still come back because everything else was great.

This cabin is very clean and comfortable. The setting is a fairy tale cabin in the woods with gorgeous streams surrounding it.

The rustic cabin was grimy inside. The grounds were beautiful. I understand that this is an older vintage property and it being dated is part of the charm. That does not mean it cannot be properly cleaned. As a prior guest noted in their review, a deep clean is required and has not been performed in a quite a while judging from the grease stains on the stove, dishes with food residue in the cabinets, the stains on the couch, and the pink biofilm surrounding the bathroom sink drain. Luckily, we were able to spend most of the time outside, which was just as described in the listing, and gorgeous. A little stream runs underneath the kitchen. Sounds super relaxing. The green is lush. There is also a little swing hanging from a tree branch over the stream that kids can enjoy.

Quiet cabin in a good location

We had a wonderful time exploring the Zigzag area from this relaxing little cabin. It was clean and we had everything that we needed. The sound of the creek and birds is very relaxing after a day of adventuring.

A Steiner Cabin!

This is probably one of the best places I have stayed at with Vrbo. The view of the creek from the kitchen window is so beautiful, along with the rest of the features of the cabin. Just down the road a piece is the Steiner Church - you must take a look at it if you stay at this cabin.

Lovely cabin

This is a lovely Steiner cabin that’s been remodeled, but the bulk of the Steiner details remain. The location was perfect, the kitchen was well stocked. Plus, the stream runs under the house!!! I would stay here again.

It is absolutely beautiful. Needs more blanket options (some lighter blankets). The creek is beautiful. Love the old stove in the kitchen. We had a good stay.

Loved it!

Although the house is fairly far from town, we really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cabin. We had a couple of maintenance issues which were taken care of quickly. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful Cabin for a Quiet Vacation

Had a great time! Great place to escape to for a long weekend with friends—the cabin and property were beautiful, no traffic noises from the road but constant, soft soothing sounds from the creek. Very comfortably fit four people across three bedrooms, and one shared bathroom. The stairs may be a bit challenging for someone older as they are pretty steep and narrow, but it was a wonderful place to stay!

Beautiful peaceful location

The property location was beautiful. So peaceful. Close to Timberline lodge. The stairs are kinda steep going up to the second floor. Very hot in the upper level. We had a small problem while here, but it was handled great.

Almost Perfect

Loved the coziness inside and out yet didn’t feel cramped or crowded. Great amount of space for my husband, myself and our two young adult kids. Our only let down was the awful mattress in the downstairs bedroom. The sleep you get makes a huge difference for the rest of your stay. I wish owners would provide beds that they themselves would sleep in.

Just what we wanted

It was great. This is a very sweet classic historical log cabin by a constant flowing creek with a nice deck, and great room. We were one couple and two adults so there was a bedroom for everyone. We love to cook and used the nice BBQ. The location was fantastic. We went to Timberline, hiked Little ZigZag falls and floated Trillium Lake. We ate at SkyWay BBQ. Good WiFi because we have to have it. A Steiner Cabin made the experience feel very authentic Mt. Hood! Absolutely recommend.

Overall had a nice time but the cleanliness of the property was substandard. Coffee pot had old moldy coffee grounds. The coffee pot needed to be thoroughly cleaned before use. Baking sheets were greasy and needed to be cleaned before us. There were dead ants and stink bugs in several rooms along the perimeter. There was dust present on surfaces. The coffee table had items including a pink pill under it. There was a garbage can at the road but no bungee or screws available per instruction.

Very cool place

We loved staying at this location. Plenty of room, very unique setting, perfect location to get to Mount Hood, plenty of amenities in the home (e.g. cookware, etc.), and comfortable den with fire stove. This was a nice ending to long days on slopes. The creek running through the property was amazing especially views from kitchen and the built-in sound machine for the 2nd story bedroom.If there is anything constructive I'd say it would be that the kitchen sink faucet was partially broken and only sprayed and the shower faucet leaked causing the pressure to be lower. So maybe a short visit from the plumber. Also, something that reduces the slipperiness of the 2nd floor stairs would be a great add. These however didn't really affect our trip on the whole and would not deter me from staying again.Thanks!

The Creek!!!!

Absolutely one of the best outdoor relaxing experiences with a VRBO. Truly, the creek running in the back, all the way under, and continuing down the property is outstanding. We had morning coffee on the back deck and our dinners on the front. Loved the outdoor lights that created a great setting for my husband to strum his guitar. The cabin is rustic, but that is what we like. It is much darker on the inside than the pictures capture. The stairs to the upper bedroom are definitely steep and probably not recommended for little ones. However, the downstairs bedroom is next to the bathroom and we had our best nights sleep while staying there! It is a must to open the window and feel the coolness of the night and let the creek lull you to sleep. We brought most of all our meals and enjoyed the propane BBQ. Thankful this place is pet friendly and our fur child gave up drinking from a bowl and enjoyed only from the creek. There are great trails to enjoy- recommend the salmon river trail in Welches. We are new to exploring the MT. Hood area and can’t wait to come back. Next time , will book for a week! Thank you for a great location!

Mice poop everywhere

When taking out the garbage it was discovered that not only was there old food waste in both containers but an overwhelming amount of mice droppings and a strong odor of mice urine. Upon further inspection of the home, we found mice droppings in the corners of the living room and dining area. We are extremely disappointed and upset in the lack of cleanliness in the home. Given that the home did not meet the cleaning procedures and policies outlined not only by VRBO but Meredith Lodging pages as well we reached out with our concerns. We were told that the property management company would reach back out within 5-7 business days. It's now been 12 days without any follow up. Extremely disappointed.

Great spot!

We loved it! Centrally located for all things Mt. Hood. The house had plenty of space for our family of 6. The kids loved playing in the creek. My only issue was we were given 1 roll of toilet paper that wasn't brand new. We ended up having to buy more. For a one bathroom home that can sleep 8, I would expect at least a second roll since the first was half used. Everything else was perfect.

Quaint Cozy Place!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: it was a lovely and very comfortable. however, the water flow to the toilet didnt work at all and ended up being a manul activity. it was rustic and comfortable. had a great time...almost
