The Space:
Cala Studio, located in the heart of Condado, features a condominium pool and a hot tub, and is within walking distance of beaches, water sports, restaurants, and the best scenic walking/running trail in San Juan. If you are looking for a trendy Caribbean urban escape, then Cala Studio is your rental. The studio comfortably sleeps 4 guests in 2 queen beds. If you need to do laundry, this building has a laundry room on the 2nd floor. 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

CONNECTING DOORS: Please note that this unit shares a connecting door with an adjacent unit. Just like a hotel room, there is a double door that locks from both sides.

CHECK-IN PROCESS AND PICTURE ID: Please note that this building's administration requires guests to check-in with the front desk each time they enter the building as well as provide a picture ID. We ask all guests to please cooperate with and comply with the building's rules and employees. 

PARKING NOT INCLUDED

This apartment does not include parking but there is an hourly self-parking 5 minutes walking distance from the building. 

GENERATOR AND WATER BACKUP

The building has a backup generator and water cistern in the case of utility interruptions. 

DAILY CLEANING AND LINEN CHANGES NOT INCLUDED

This apartment does not include daily cleaning or linen changes. Mid-stay cleaning and/or towel or linen changes may be requested at an additional cost and are subject to availability.

 
LIVING AREAS

Enter the studio and you are greeted with a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean and the Condado Lagoon. The view at Cala Studio is spectacular by day and night. The studio has a flat-screen TV, central AC, wifi, and a standing-room only balcony. 

 
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

There are 2 queen beds that comfortably sleep 4 adults. Fresh bed linens and towels are included with each stay. The studio has a good set of blackout curtains for those that like to sleep in. There is a full-size closet and a dresser to store clothing and luggage.  


KITCHENETTE

Cala Studio has a recently remodeled kitchenette with a hotel-size fridge, full-size microwave, 2 burner stovetop, toaster oven, and sink. The kitchenette includes basic dinnerware and a full set of knives and cutting boards. There is a coffee maker in the kitchenette as well.

 
RENTING A CAR VS. USING UBER

We recommend moving around via Uber if staying within the general San Juan area. Another fun option is to rent electric scooters, which are on every street corner. Note that you will need to use hourly parking if you rent a car.

 
LOCATION

This apartment is located in Condado Lagoon Villas in San Juan, Puerto Rico. From Condado Lagoon Villas, you will be within walking distance of many dining options and three separate beaches. All of the exciting activities of the San Juan area are a short Uber ride away. This is one of the best urban locations in the entire Caribbean.

Explore the three separate beaches within walking distance. We provide beach chairs and a small cooler to do so. You have La Playa del Perro, El Escambrón, and La Playa de La Laguna, all within an approximate 10-minute stroll away.

Walk or jog the walking trail from Condado Lagoon all the way to Old San Juan. This is a 2-mile adventure with a spectacular view of the Atlantic and delicious places to stop for food or refreshments along the way. Try El Hamberguito for delicious burgers and Ladi's Place for local seafood with a stunning view.  

Lunch or dinner at La Placita de Santurce, a local market with 20+ restaurants and awesome nightlife. We love Santaella restaurant, local cuisine with a modern approach located in La Placita.

Explore the El Yunque Rainforest. El Yunque is an easy 30-minute drive from the property and is the only rainforest under US Flagship. There are many tour options that leave from the San Juan area. 

Chill at the pool and jacuzzi! This apartment includes access to the Condado Lagoon pool and jacuzzi. There are beach chairs at the pool and there are beach/pool towels in the apartment.  


TRAVEL INSURANCE

We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, especially during the peak months of Hurricane Season, which are July to October. Travel insurance is inexpensive and will reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, this will depend on what the coverage purchased covers. Make sure to review and understand the options before purchase. Disclaimer: we are not associated with any travel insurance companies.


AMENITIES

West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.
West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel-size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, 1 dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay. 

 
HOUSE RULES 

Check-in time is at 4:00 pm
Check-out time is at 11:00 am
NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.
NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated, and you will be expelled from the property.
Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am. No parties or noisy activities during these hours.
The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service.  If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
All bookings are contingent on signing a short-term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
Maximum occupancy of 4 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors. 
Max. occupancy is strictly enforced, and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.
Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease, or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged. 
Do not hang towels from the balcony or windows. A $100 fine may be applied if you break this rule. 
Subletting is not allowed.

We will share recommendations on things to do and places to eat prior to your arrival and we are available to provide suggestions for any other activities you may be interested in doing during your trip. Most importantly, you will have a dedicated Property Manager to resolve any issues that may arise during your stay. We want to make your experience the best it can be!

Floor was dirty there was an iron and a steamer. I called the person in charge because steamer was not working and they sent another iron. I contacted the person in charge again and told her that I needed a steamer not an iron and She said they both do the same thing. She was very ignorant and rude because I said the they don’t do the same job and she said this exact words in Spanish that I copy and paste. Las habitaciones se le deja para que planche la ropa. Y tiene en su habitación para planchar (The rooms are left for you to iron your clothes. And you have in your room to iron) that was very rude so I said thank you for your help. I didn’t want to continue talking to someone ignorant.

Amazing spot ! Great location and view ! Contact with property manager was amazing, they replied so quickly!! View was AHHHHHHmazing ! Downs : Mini split condenser on the French belcony - not pretty or quite Bathroom needs a serious update - faucets to sink IKEA great but needs to be replaced…. Quickly- shower door needs replacing just as quick. Need some art (color) on main living space Overall the Property a 8 out of a 10
