It really is a GREAT HOUSE! lol Perfect oceanfront location with really stunning blue ocean views, quiet beach, nice big pool with comfortable seats looking over from the deck above, easy walk over the dune to the ocean! What else... oh yeah, really comfortable spaces inside too! It is a great house!

You're right, Northwind is a beautiful home with very comfortable spaces. The decks overlooking the pool, the beach and those sunsets, with horses grazing on the dune... heaven!!

Thanks so much for your input. It's funny how different people want different things! I don't like lights shining in my windows at night, but LOVE the early morning sun streaming in. I guess it depends on whether you're trying to sleep in!! At any rate, I guess you could always drape a towel or blanket over the curtain rod if you are trying to sleep in!! Please consider a repeat stay... I know being in his happy place was a good thing for your dad!! :-)

There is a path off to the right of the house over the dune in front. You should've called me!! LOL NEXT TIME! Hope you will come again!

Thanks for your review. Northwind is a brand new home and your stay was the second week of it's life!!! We were still working out some of the kinks. The issues you were concerned about have been addressed, except of course your idea that the house floorplan should change. That just is what it is. ;-) That view of the ocean and the walk over the dune sure made it easy for your cute grandkids to get to the beach. Glad you enjoyed your stay.

Thank you for your review. We're so glad you had a great stay. The bathrooms you mention in your review do not have design flaws. But you do have to use them correctly. The Villa shower door pulls OUT, so pushing it IN means you won't have room to move around as you discovered. I wish you had called me to investigate that for you! The main bedroom shower in Northwind is completely tiled around the walk in shower. You can allow the water to pelt away and it won't harm anything. The hand held portion of the shower can be directed wherever you want. Upstairs, the shared shower is unusual, yes, but it works perfectly for those two rooms. The owners love it, and it fits their needs. I want to mention that there is a hot water shower outside that is perfectly delightful. It is enclosed with enough walls for privacy but you are showering with the ocean breeze sweeping in. It is quite an experience to get an outside shower and once you do, you may never go back inside! ;-) ALSO since your departure, there is now a deck walkway between the pool, the outside shower and stairs up to the house. It makes sandy feet a thing of the past! The curtains in those bedrooms have been installed!! Thanks! The stairs in the Villa meet the local building code and there is a handrail all the way up. So sorry you found them uncomfortable. I think the Villa is the perfect spot for a couple that wants some privacy. There are three other bedrooms in this home.... choose your own adventure. The owners of this home created a space they love; they made every decision with painstaking consideration. While it might not have jived with your tastes, it is their masterpiece.
