Welcome to the Lemon Street Retreat - Your Ultimate St. Augustine Getaway!
Indulge in the perfect vacation experience at 67 Lemon Street, a meticulously renovated 1920 Craftsman Bungalow located just steps away from the vibrant downtown of St. Augustine, Florida. With 3 bedrooms, each boasting its own bath, TV, and desk - ideal for the "work from home" lifestyle - this home promises a unique and unforgettable stay for up to 6 guests, with the option to accommodate 2 to 14 more in the optional Guesthouse in back.
Thoughtful Renovation: Step inside to discover a tasteful renovation that respects the timeless appeal of this classic 100-year-old Bungalow. From Carrara marble baths to Soapstone counters, heart of pine floors, and reclaimed Poplar cabinets, every detail echoes the essence of the past while offering the comfort of the present.
Unbeatable Location: Set in the heart of the historic downtown area, our home places you within a short half-mile stroll to the renowned St. George Street, where you'll find a plethora of tourist attractions, restaurants, and shops to explore. Whether you're interested in immersing yourself in local history or enjoying the music and lively atmosphere of the city after dark, it's all right at your doorstep. But that's not all! Just a few miles away, you have not one, but two stunning beaches waiting to be discovered. Vilano Beach, about 3 miles north, and St. Augustine Beach, just 5 miles south, offer a delightful contrast with plenty of parking and amazing restaurants at each. We provide beach towels, chairs, and boogie boards for your convenience. It's truly the Best of Both Worlds!
Comfortable Accommodations: The Greatroom exudes warmth with plenty of natural light, and a luxurious leather sofa with three reclining sections, complemented by a corner recliner chair for quiet reading or relaxation. With 4 TVs and plenty of board games and cards, there are endless entertainment options to ensure that everyone's preferences are catered to.
A Creative Kitchen: The heart of the home, our kitchen, showcases the imaginative use of reclaimed materials. Crafted by Linda's father over 50 years ago from antique Poplar beams salvaged from an old Elementary School in Tennessee and transported here, the cabinets exude nostalgia and history. The Soapstone counter island and open shelves further enhance the authentic ambiance.
Inviting Bedrooms: Each of the three bedrooms is designed to provide a haven of peace. The front bedroom features a King Headboard crafted from one of the original 100-year-old doors found in the home, a secret meditation/sun porch, and a large walk-in closet that can double as a nursery or office. Its bath boasts the original 100-year-old claw foot tub alongside a new Carrera marble rain shower. The middle King Bedroom offers a luxurious marble bath with a two-person shower and a new standalone Slipper Claw Foot Bath Tub. The third bedroom is furnished with a Queen sleigh bed, double closets, and a private entrance to the hall bath with marble shower. All 3 with desks for easy “Work From Home”.
Captivating Outdoor Spaces: Relax and unwind on the large screened front porch, complete with 6 teak rocking chairs and an additional 3rd dining area. The back delights with a private deck with Dining and romantic string lights, a versatile grill with both gas and charcoal options, a seconding dining space under the stars, and a charming rock garden. For larger groups, the gate can be opened to link the guesthouse in the back, providing even more space to enjoy.
Versatility and Additional Accommodations: One of the unique advantages of Lemon Retreat is the option to add a guesthouse accessed off the back alley, perfect for accommodating additional guests. Depending on your group size and preferences, you can add the whole Guesthouse which sleeps up to 14 or just the top floor Palm View sleeping 9 or the bottom floor Secret Garden sleeping 5. That's 20 Guests if you rent everything and room for 7 cars. But that's not all; I have two other beautiful homes just 2 blocks away, each with its own distinct charm and versatility. To the south, 28 Riberia St sleeps 2 to 14 and to the east, 28 Saragossa St sleeps 002-8. Whether you're planning a family reunion, a wedding, or simply traveling with a larger group, our properties can cater to your needs. See bedroom/bath details with listing links below.

À propos de l’hôte
Hôte : Linda Bayles
My name is Linda Bayles, and I've been a Realtor in the Jacksonville/St. Augustine area, ranking in the Top 1% of Agents since 1998. In 2005, I stumbled upon a 1926 beach house on St. Augustine Beach, and it sparked a passion to create vacation spaces for large extended families - a place where brothers, sisters, cousins, grandparents, uncles, and aunts can comfortably come together to reconnect and enjoy each other away from the demands of the outside world. Coming from a big family of 5 children, as does my husband Brad, some of my fondest memories are when we all got together to simply hang out for 3 or 4 days. The little ones always come up with a play, and the adults gather in the kitchen, passing down family recipes and playing games. Our favorite is Rummikub, and I make sure there's one in each house. Once you experience it, I hope it becomes a cherished part of your St. Augustine stay.
So, I bought that 1926 Craftsman at 2 1st Lane, gutted it, and turned it into The Chautauqua, which sleeps 21. It has been a rewarding success. In 2011, my father expanded the tradition and bought four homes on one Oceanfront lot just 9 streets north at 2 9th Street. I spent the next year remodeling them into The Seaside Cottages, ranging from 1 to 6 bedrooms, accommodating 2 to 19 or a total of 35 if you rent them all - ideal for family reunions. The best part is not only the homes but the BEACH. There are only 18 streets on the "Best Beach." No cars. The ocean right at your door. Wide with great sand to make Sand Castles. And Great Restaurants within walking distance. It's amazing! Then I discovered the charm of Downtown St. Augustine. At night, it is like strolling in an old European city. So in 2016, I renovated and moved into the Main House on Lemon Street and renovated four more Downtown Vacation Rentals: The Guesthouse behind Lemon (sleeping 2 -14) and the Historic Lady and Guesthouse at 28 Riberia, just 2 streets south (also sleeping 2 -14). Both are an easy walking distance from St. George Street, the center of Historic Downtown with all the Restaurants, Sights, and Music. It has been great for Downtown Weddings, with the Bride taking one house and the Groom the other.
And now, after 1.5 years, I have finished my final project at 28 Saragossa, just 2 blocks away. This is a magnificent 1885 three-story Victorian. I will live in two units and have two 1-bedroom units that will sleep 4 each available for Guests. That makes my home (the Lemon Street Retreat) available (3 BD/3 BA sleeps 6) separately or with the Lemon Guesthouse where it would sleep 20 combined. Together with Riberia and Saagossa, that gives 42 Guests in a 2 street radious. Please come join me.
My Goal is to provide the best vacation location possible. I hope you will stay with us and create memories you will cherish for a lifetime. Feel free to reach out to me anytime. I am always avaiable.
At your service, Linda Bayles
PS: I am also a Realtor, so if you fall in love with the area as much as I did, I would love to help. I work primarily as a Buyer's Agent - there are not many of us out there. Most Realtors work as neutral Transaction Agents. You can Google 'Buyers Agent' to get an overview of the difference, and I believe it's significant. Just ask yourself one question, "Would I want the other side's Attorney to represent me?" No! That's it in a nutshell, but the amazing thing is, unlike Attorneys, it does not cost you anything to have your OWN Realtor representing YOUR interest. We are all paid by the Seller. So, I would love to help if you are thinking about buying or selling in the area. Just call, and I will send photos of what's available. Once here, I will give you a tour of the area and take you "shopping." We can see about 4 properties per hour, and you have me as long as it takes. Looking forward to it!
