The Neighborhood:

The Middle sits right on Lake Rotoiti, one of the prettiest of the Rotorua lakes and a favourite for swimming, fishing, kayaking and boating. It's a peaceful, natural setting a little out of town, so it feels like a proper escape - the lake and the outdoors are the main event here. The Okere Falls Store and craft beer garden is about 21 minutes away for a coffee or a meal, Rotorua Airport is around 14 minutes, and central Rotorua with its restaurants, shops and geothermal attractions is roughly 26. A short drive brings you to local stores for groceries and essentials.



Getting Around:

A car is essential out here, with free parking on-site and on the street. By car, Rotorua Airport is about 14 minutes away, the Okere Falls Store around 21, the Redwoods Forest roughly 24, and central Rotorua and the Polynesian Spa about 26. Public transport is very limited, so having your own vehicle makes all the difference.

A few honest things to know: The Middle is a relaxed, good-value lakeside bach rather than a luxury home - clean and comfortable, with the lake and jetty as the real highlights. The five bedrooms share one bathroom (with two showers), which is worth bearing in mind for a larger group.
