This 3-bed, 1-bath Emily vacation rental is all about simple comforts and big nature. Spend days fishing and boating on Ruth Lake, exploring the State Forest, riding ATVs, or soaking in the peace and quiet. After, head to the observation deck to take in the lake views and Minnesota sunsets. Unplug, relax, repeat!

The cabin and property were as listed. The cabin is roomy, plenty of room for 8 people. proximity to Emily was great, Just a short walk. The lake and shore clean,but access could be difficult for some--all the steps.

Spent the weekend here with a group of friends had an awesome time! The place was super clean, well-stocked, and really organized. Great weekend spot! would recommend!!

Loved the ranch style rambler! It was perfect for multifamily stay with kiddos! Adults had space with the front bedrooms and the kids in the back bunk area. The washer and dryer to use was awesome for after riding atvs all day. Lake view and lookout was beautiful for morning coffee. The stairs leading down to the lake are scary for little ones but honestly didnt bother us terribly as the owner mentions it in the welcome binder... so we just made solid boundaries kids were not aloud to go up or down without an adult. We were the first guests of the season so I wont review the grounds/ yard id assume the company hired for yard work hasn't been out yet. The host was better than we were with communicating. I sent a message on arrival and presumed she wouldn't get back to me for hours so walked away to unload and she actually ended up calling me after shed messaged a response within minutes. The house isn't perfect its older and shows it in some aspects (windows) but was so comfy and welcoming.

Beautiful!

We had a wonderful week at this cabin, caught plenty of fish and even put a tent up in the yard overlooking the lake for the kids a few nights. Would definitely love to visit this cabin again. Owner was very helpful and checked in on everything. Thanks again!

Overall the stay was good. More steps down to the lake and shorter dock for the family to swim on. There wasn't ans AC unit , but we were lucky with the weather not being too hot. Had a bear in the camp, so I would suggest locking up the garbage.

After sharing your feedback with the homeowner, they’d like to provide the following insights:-The dock's current length and the steps down to the lake are as described in the listing, but we understand your preferences and will keep them in mind for future improvements.-While the home doesn't have A/C, the location and typical weather conditions usually help keep the house comfortable. We're glad to hear that the weather worked out during your stay.-We're sorry to hear about the bear encounter. The area is known for its wildlife, so we strongly encourage guests to securely store all trash. The homeowner has repaired the window in the garage that was damaged during your stay and has reinforced instructions on proper trash storage for future guests.Thanks again for taking the time to leave your review!

Ranch style home. The house is old and not updated. I have never been to a VRBO without a grill. We had to bring ours. Algae growing all over the exterior of the house, exterior lights not working, poor communication with the owner. Not notified of lawn service showing up unannounced and moving our stuff around.Cabin was musty even with the windows open. Too many steps for some seniors. Very nice dock, not weedy at all, and very clear water.

Hi Schanna, we’re sorry to hear that your stay didn’t fully meet your expectations.We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:-Before and during your stay, we addressed your multiple inquiries, including requests to bring three dogs—though the property allows up to two—and for early check-in. The lake house was prepared prior to your arrival and was fresh, comfortable, with no musty conditions present.-Upon your arrival, you mentioned finding the home pleasant and inquired about the garbage can, which is located in the garage along with a small Weber grill available for guest use.-Regarding your observation about algae, some shaded areas of the exterior naturally develop moss or algae due to the humid climate. We address this annually, though it may return between cleanings.-There are two steps each at both the front and back entrances to the home. Lawn care is scheduled on Mondays, and this detail has now been added to the booking instructions for future guests to ensure clarity.Thank you for sharing your feedback about your stay!

Memories Made

Overall for our stay the house was nice and allowed us the room we needed with 5 adults and 3 children staying in the home. Access to the lake was amazing to have and the location of the home allowed for easy walks to local establishments. Contacting the homes manager took some time typically to get a response. I would suggest that the homes listing show that it does not have an air conditioner but rather an air exchanger which doesn’t actually cool the air- the super hot humid days were incredibly difficult to be in the home even with 8+ fans running so if you are sensitive to heat I wouldn’t suggest booking during warm months.
