AWD is needed at least and 4x4 vehicle would be preferred as the cabin is on a narrow loose gravel drive with steep incline and turns. Pros: Secluded with no neighbors, short drive to Bryson City, kitchen stocked well, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, modern mtn decor, clean for the most part (see cons on floors), game room (upstairs), A/C system works well (although windows were open in mornings during stay), two hot tubs (didn’t use either), smart TVs in 4 rooms (all streaming based as there are no cable or satellite channels). Cons: Satellite/wireless internet so spotty if weather bad, floors could have been cleaned better (sticky stairs and other areas where soda or something was spilled), only enough towels for 1-2 nights (washer and dryer in cabin), small parking/turn around area esp with larger SUV, small steep yard (if have little ones)Overall, very nice secluded cabin with a short drive to Bryson City. Although on a steep hillside, the road appears to be well maintained but definitely will need AWD to navigate the loose gravel. Cabin is very private and quiet. Front porch/living room faces west so long shaded mornings and brief sun in evenings. Being so secluded, cell service may be limited depending on carrier and satellite/wireless internet is used so poor weather equals poor service. Cabin’s bathrooms are modern and were clean. Comfortable and relaxing stay with no major issues encountered.
