The drive up the mountain is daunting, but the cabin is more than worth it. We did not use a hot tub, but the views are beyond words. This is our second year in a row using this cabin and we could not be more pleased.

Just simply incredible view from a great modern cabin with all amenities- we greatly enjoyed our stay.Aside: Although your description suggests going there in daylight for "first trip" road familiarization purposes, some further elaboration for others from outside of area might be helpful. For example: I will be up there again next month for Fall motorcycle ride, and I would not attempt going up there on my "road only" touring bike given the trap rock/gravel switch backs. An AWD or FWD recommendation would be helpful to others as appropriate "heads-up".

This cabin makes you feel like you’re sitting in the clouds. Beautiful long range mountain view to watch the “smoke” roll in and out. The neighborhood has two accessible paths to waterfalls, which we had all to ourselves. Cabin was just as described. Owner was very communicative and helpful.Highly recommend.

A little far to get to the main roads, but we made it work. We made the most of it when we did go out, but loved coming back to the cabin to relax. All in all a great stay.

Great location and property

We very much enjoyed our stay! The house was clean and had everything needed for our trip. We loved the location since it was far enough way, but still close to town activities within the area. Highly recommend and we would stay again the next time we visit this beautiful area!

Host is great, good communication and very responsive. Home is as advertised, newer home and furniture, well kept and clean. Feels much larger than a typical 2-bedroom home. Views are beautiful and the hot tub is a nice amenity. Kitchen is also well-equipped for making meals at the house. We would definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

Peaceful getaway. Even though the porch faces the road, there were only a few cars throughout our stay that passed the cabin. Great weather and once you get past the nerves of driving up the mountain on the narrow roadways, it’s well worth it.

Peaceful Paradise

Honey Bear Retreat is simply beautiful! Amazing views and very peaceful. The cabin is clean, comfortable, well stocked and organized. We definitely plan to return.
