Freshly renovated by master craftsman. Elegant 2 bedroom 900 square foot suite in the lower level of house. 8 foot ceilings. King-size bed in one bedroom and Queen-size bed in other bedroom. One full bathroom with tub and shower. Lots of hot water. Walking distance to fabulous restaurants, pubs, cafés, vintage and boutique shopping. 8 minute drive to float planes. 5 minute drive to VIU. 15 minute drive to ferries, hospital, airport. 1.4 km to Hullo ferry. Several parks nearby, some with seasonal waterfalls. Free off-street parking and three steps down to suite entry. Private gated patio is a perfect space to chill. Suite is cozy in winter, cool in summer. Heated tile bathroom floors with shower and oversized tub. Washer and dryer within suite. A complete kitchen with dining table that seats 4. Dishwasher, fridge, stove, oven, microwave, dishes and cookware. Kicking Horse Coffee, Silkroad Tea, cream, and sugar provided gratis for your enjoyment. Oak floors throughout. Comfortable Scandinavian furniture in living room. Original local art. A fresh and clean environment. A central place to stay within the city. Nanaimo is well situated on the island from which to take day trips.

Phil and Maureen are exceptional hosts and their garden suite is exquisite! Not only does it have everything you need for a pleasant stay, but the interior design and furnishings are very high-end and artistic. Every last detail has been carefully considered, I thoroughly enjoyed the hosts as well as the amenities and look forward to visiting again.

Maureen and Phil were such gracious hosts. We loved their cozy and clean suite. It was beautifully decorated and the sheets were so comfy I had to look up the brand to get myself a pair! Maureen provided great recommendations and delicious treats during our stay. The location was great to walk down to the waterfront and explore the old city quarter. Would highly recommend and would look forward to coming back if we're in town again.

A beautiful and lovely apartment, cosy and thoughtful arranged, with art and a nice outdoor space looking in the garden. Awesome Hosts

Maureen and Phil are very friendly hosts. They live above this rental, so if there are any issues they can fix them incredibly quickly. Maureen went out of her way to make us feel welcome and make sure that we enjoyed our stay. We also loved that we could easily walk to the downtown area and the Old Quarter. We only drove anywhere when we were visiting places outside of Nanaimo. Thanks for a great stay!

Nanaimo Retreat

The pictures don't do the suite justice! It's calm and beautiful with a fully stocked kitchen. The soaker tub is lovely especially with Maureen's natural and fragrant extras. The delicious baked treats were so yummy and thoughtful. Maureen is a delight to stay with and is very easy to communicate with. We look forward to future stays.

The best B&B I've ever stayed at

Maureen and Phil were exceptional hosts and their suite was absolutely top notch. The photos don't do it justice! Not only was it extremely clean, it was beautifully furnished with quality items. From high thread-count Gluckstein Home sheets to gorgeous living room furniture and beautiful finishings. Everything was high quality. Even the doorknobs. I stayed there with my best friend for a girls' getaway and we felt very well cared for! The deep soaker tub, stocked with Maureen's incredible homemade products, was a huge bonus. Plus, all the small touches really added up -- small bags filled with fresh herbs in the drawers and closets, beautiful blankets and throw pillows, and an amazing assortment of books and games. Not to mention the Silk Road teas and yummy coffee. Plus, the location is great for exploring downtown Nanaimo. We walked to an amazing restaurant for dinner one night. And one night, we made dinner in the gorgeous kitchen, stocked with everything we needed. Maureen somehow knew when to give us our space and when to surprise us with goodies, like freshly baked macaroons and cherry tomatoes from her garden. And she baked us the best plum (from her plum trees) crisp I've ever had. We will definitely stay with Maureen and Phil again!

Outstanding VRBO, Location, and Host!

Our VRBO Unit and Host could not have been more accommodating. Very well appointed, newly remodeled, exquisitely furnished and decorated unit. Most comfortable living room and bedrooms. Super kitchen and bathroom. Inviting patio. Easy walk to many sites and terrific restaurants. Wonderful communications with, and suggestions from, our Outstanding Host. We will be back!

More than a Bed & Breakfast

This B&B has everything you need for a long or short term stay. The bedrooms are at the back of the house so you can get a good night sleep on fine linens. If you like to walk you can pick up something to eat and drink in the area with plenty of gluten free options.

Felt at home

What a lovely rental! We felt right at home. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom had lots of room. No problem with getting hot water. Loved the outside space with the water fountain.

Fantastic!

Can’t say enough good things about our stay at Maureen and Phil’s place. Communication before and during our visit was very prompt. Check in procedure was very simple. The accommodation was very clean and a great location to downtown Nanaimo. Maureen went above and beyond during our visit. She gave us a quick orientation when we arrived. Made cookies and loaves for us and even drove us to the ferry terminal when our flights got messed up. When we come back to Nanaimo we will definitely stay here again. Thank you Maureen and Phil! !

Cute, clean, central location

This property was spotlessly clean. It is a large and comfortable space decorated very nicely. It had a cute, private outdoor patio looking at the garden with a great balance of sun and shade. The beds were very very comfortable. It was simply but sufficiently stocked. It was easy to walk to downtown and the ocean front. The hosts were great. Maureen also treated us to some amazing baking! We look forward to returning.

Can't Imagine a More Lovely Place to Stay

Wonderful visit to a lovely part of the world. Maureen and Phil are wonderful hosts and the suite is really lovely, extremely clean, and conveniently located. The bed is comfortable. Lots of helpful maps/guides, books for casual reading, etc. The walk-out porch is perfect as Maureen's front yard is a lovely garden. Cathy and I enjoyed our stay and Maureen made us a delicious breakfast dish that we ate over the course of our stay.

East coast meets west coast! The beauty of living in a temperate rainforest is that we are always close to beautiful gardens and lush forests. This climate is perfect for our gardening endeavors. Our front garden contains many flowers and back garden grows our vegetables and fruit trees. We love being outside and near the water. Nanaimo and Vancouver Island have so much to offer.

Our neighbourhood is in the centre of the Old City Quarter: not directly in the downtown core, but close. There are many older homes on our streets. We are close to the best restaurants in Nanaimo. Everything is walking distance to us.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Our house has the look of an older Cape Cod home, but it is relatively new. This gives the comfort of a newer building, but in the interesting style of the neighbourhood. The suite is decorated with locally made art. We care about your comfort. The mattresses are wonderful. We provide lots of bedding. We use Bamboo sheets 
 the best! You can relax by the fire, or you can be outside on the patio and enjoy the garden in your own space. We are friendly but respect your privacy, We welcome everyone.
