Lovely high elevation setting

We could feel the temperature dropping as we climbed the hill. The view driving up is breathtaking. There is plenty of parking. (We had 4 vehicles). Two bedrooms are upstairs and do have ceiling fans, 2 bedrooms are downstairs and did not have fans. The sleeping arrangements were as stated in the listing. We did get 2 large fans and that greatly helped in the kitchen and living areas. The downstairs bathroom has a claw foot tub which is quite deep. The upstairs bathroom has a very tight shower but overall both bathrooms were adequate. The tv with surround sound was wonderful and the seating was great. The patio is at the front of the house near the street. The spa is great and the patio furniture was very comfortable. There is no expectation of privacy. The request is no shoes in the house . We brought our own slippers since but they do have slippers provided. The kitchen is fine, great gas burning stove, good dishwasher. There is no pantry so no basic supplies at all and dry foods had to stay in bags. Bring everything you need for meals except pots and pans and basic dishes. There are no bowls so making a salad or trying to mix batter for pancakes required some creativity. Overall we had a great time and the house was adequate for our needs.

I’m frustrated that the price of renting a home has continued to increase and yet compared to the beginning of these sites, the quality has gone down. The beds were not that comfortable/felt like cheap mattresses (Hilton/Westin mainstream hotels & the local lodge are way better & cleaner/updated), the kitchen storage was so poor considering it’s a 4 bedroom home with no where to put dry goods, and the check in timing was incorrectly listed so I had to reach out to be told it would be 24 hours before which was tight and more stressful when coordinating travel plans with another family. We were also there for a beach vacation and there was nothing included - no beach passes, beach towels, chairs, umbrella- at least any of those things would’ve been nice considering the cost and location being in Lake Tahoe. The thing that was probably the worst was that there was a sign in the living room from the property manager I believe that promoted buying a home in Lake Tahoe and renting it out so that your guests pay the mortgage. It was incredibly tacky. Overall, both families felt like we spent way more than the place should be worth. We stayed in a hotel following this and had a way better experience even though we didn’t have a kitchen (really the only upside in a home being cooking your own food). Everyone’s different, but after renting homes through the major places for years, the trend is clear to us - overcharging and underdelivering mostly so rich people can get richer.

The hot tub was ready to jump into and irresistible after our travels. The spaces within were both cozy and ample. Great neighborhood everything you might need is at the bottom of the hill. Would we go again? Oh, yes.

The house was a wonderful place to stay for our extended family's Tahoe vacation. There was excellent communication from the host. We had everything that we needed on our stay. We would stay again at this house.
