Outdoors, kids will love spotting kangaroos and exploring the surrounding bush, while adults can settle into a book or simply enjoy the breeze and birdsong.

Guests have access to the whole property, and we encourage you to wander up the street and towards the beach for some beautiful water views while you stay

Kangaroo Cottage is set in a peaceful corner of Dawesville, a quiet coastal town south of Mandurah. You’re a short walk to Pyramids Beach – uncrowded and great for swimming or surfing – and a quick drive to the estuary and Dawesville Cut for paddling, boating, or dolphin spotting.

The area offers simple pleasures: grab a coffee at Café Coast, enjoy casual meals at The Cut Tavern, or pick up fish and chips for an easy dinner. There are walking tracks through the bush and along the coast, plus weekend markets, local shops, and great spots for birdwatching nearby.

This is an unpretentious coastal escape – no resort crowds, just the sound of the sea, the rustle of the trees, and space to breathe.

Once your booking is confirmed, you will be directed to our guest app. Prior to check-in, you will be required to complete an identity check by scanning your licence/passport and credit card before being provided with your arrival instructions. This provides security for the owners of the property so they are comfortable that you are who you say you are and you have the documents to prove it (similar to a hotel check-in procedure). We do not charge your card, nor does it get stored by our system, and you are welcome to block out some numbers, but please note that our Guest App has the highest level of PCI compliance available. This process is necessary due to the fact that we have a self-check-in system.
You`ll be staying in someone`s home, so please treat it with care and respect.
