Plenty of room, host was very accommodating-answered questions fast, basement bedrooms and game room excellent for kids to hang out, outside decks were great for gathering in the am and pm, very clean, kitchen was well equipped-(sorry I forgot to tell you your coffee pot is missing a lid(?)), very private in the back facing the lake, bathrooms had shampoo and conditioner on the walls. Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful home!!!!

Mammoth Cave Weekend

The perfect home for a long weekend exploring Mammoth Cave. Great for kids all ages with video games, toys, etc. Especially loved the deck and sitting in the rocking chairs to relax after a day of hiking. Will definitely stay again when we come back to the area.

Couldn't have picked a better place!

We were looking for a slow family getaway for spring break and that's exactly what we got. Kara and her team thought of every little detail. House was very spacious and the back deck was amazing. If you're looking for a place to stay for Mammoth Cave, this is it!

Amazing Place to Stay!

My family and friends booked this house looking for a retreat and this house was perfect! Plenty of space for everyone with plenty to do. The deck outside was so peaceful and the walking trail on the property was perfect to start the day. There is fun for all ages with the game room, board games, and video game consoles. My kids really enjoyed the swings under the deck. We used the nearby boat ramp at Dog Creek to put our boat in the water ($5 launch fee). Nolin Lake is beautiful for boating and plenty of coves to hang out in. We will definitely be back and will book again. I highly recommend!

Points faibles : Propreté, arrivée et communication.
First, we found a dead mouse (caught in a trap) in the kids game room in the basement, along with a spread of several tens of dead insects (ladybugs mostly). I get that the house is in a rural, wooded area and wildlife will find a way to get in - that's not the problem. It's that all that was there waiting for us, which begs the question as to whether the landlord or host did a timely walk through. Additionally, the basement itself does not have any heat. There's an inoperable wood stove, but I guess it's mainly for show. Consequently, with freezing temperatures outside and no extra blankets, the basement bedroom (4 bunk beds - ideal for kids) was unusable, as was the sitting area. Also, If you have a party of more than five, good luck with the limited hot water. Lastly, we never received any check-in/out instructions via email or through the Vrbo app. I had to call Vrbo's 1-800 number upon arriving to get the host's number to call to get instructions on how to open the door. Otherwise, there was no communication or even acknowledgement of our stay from the Host. There are plenty of Verb properties in the area, so I would recommend looking at others.

Regarding the concern mentioned, our property manager spoke with you during your stay and offered to address the issue immediately. They also followed up the next day, when this concern was not raised again. Your visit coincided with cold temperatures, and we provided blankets in each room for comfort. Check-out instructions were sent prior to arrival, and we encourage guests to review these communications. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue to improve the guest experience.

Weekend with Friends

We had an absolutely phenomenal weekend at this lake house! We spent time hiking, exploring the woods, and enjoying the outdoors, but the real highlight was the house itself.It seemed like every time I turned a corner, I discovered another room, another game, or another fun activity. The place is incredibly spacious and so thoughtfully designed that even with 18 people, it never felt crowded. The kids were constantly entertained, which made the weekend even more relaxing for the adults.There was always something to do, whether you wanted to play games, hang out, or just enjoy the property. It’s one of those places that keeps surprising you the more you explore.I can’t recommend this place enough. It exceeded every expectation, and we’re already looking forward to coming back!
