Fantastic 2 Bedroom Apartment in Waterloo

Summary:
This centrally located 2 bedroom apartment is in an enviable location - a short walk from many major attractions as well as being within 5 minutes of Waterloo Station. The apartment has everything you need for up to 6 guests to have a comfortable and homely stay in the heart of London. There are 2 double bedrooms with crisp linen and fresh towels, a double sofa bed in the spacious living room, as well as a fully equipped kitchen and family bathroom.

The Space:
The apartment is located on the top floor (no lift) of an attractive red brick building. Inside it is light and airy, with wooden floorboards and comfortable furnishings. There are two double bedrooms, with a double and a king bed made up with hotel-quality linens and comfortable duvets and pillows. There is a sofa bed for 2 people in the living area that can be made up upon request before arrival, for an additional fee (please select 5 or 6 guests when booking). The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook, including an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, pots & pans and utensils as well as a coffee machine. There is also bathroom with bath and shower as well as complimentary toiletries for you to use.

Guest Access:
Guests have sole access to the whole apartment

The Neighborhood:
Located on the South Bank, there is an abundance of attractions within easy walking distance of the apartment. Big Ben, Westminster and the London Eye are just a 10-15 minute walk away, as is the Southbank Centre and a lovely walking path along the Thames itself.

If you continue along the river path you will reach the Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe theatre (20 mins), and 5 minutes further will bring you to the famous Borough Market, bustling with food stalls with its history dating back 1000 years (yes 1 thousand!).

Also within 25-30 minutes walk are attractions such as St Paul's Cathedral, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, St James' Park and Buckingham Palace.

Not to mention an abundance of restaurants, shops, bars and cafes right on your doorstep, this really is the ultimate location within the heart of the city.

Getting Around:
Waterloo Station is only a 5 minute walk away, serviced by multiple underground lines you can reach most areas of the city from here within 15 minutes. The are also a number of rail routes servicing the greater London area as well as further afeild. Taxi's can be hailed easily from the main road around the corner, as well as a number of bus routes for anyone looking to take in the city sights from the top deck!

Other Things to Note:
There is a sofa bed for 2 people in the living area that can be made up upon request before arrival, for an additional fee (please select 5 or 6 guests when booking)
-Please note you must confirm your check in time 24 hours in advance in order to arrange and confirm your check in.
-All guests must present their passport/ID upon check-in
-For check-ins after 10pm there will be fees

-If you fail to arrive at the property within an hour from your scheduled arrival time there will be a fee of £10 for each extra hour you are late. If we need to rearrange your check-in to a later time on the day there will be a £20 fee (if the check-in is later than 22:00 late check-in fees will also apply).
-If you are delayed, please let us know in advance, and depending on the notice, we may be able to able to rearrange check-in.
- For check-ins between 22:00 and 00:00 there is a £50 fee.
- For check-ins after 00:00 there is a £75 fee
- We may be able to arrange a late check-out after 10am if you let us know in advance and depending on the availability of the property.
- Late check-outs are charged at £10 per hour after 10am.
- If you break something, let us know before you check-out so that we can replace it before the next guest arrives.

Not as Shown
Property is on the 4th floor- no lift. The photos in the ads have definitely been touched up, and taken with a wide-angled lens. The property was obviously staged for pictures but in reality this is an absolute bare-bones space with a ton of wear. Its best feature is certainly its proximity to Waterloo Station.

Worst VRBO ever!
The stay at this flat started with a two-and-a-half hour wait for someone to come to unlock the flat and check us in. We contacted the property management company a number of times until somebody finally came. The flat is dirty, utensils have a greasy and dusty residue on them, they were blood stains on the blankets, and it was generally just dirty. We went out and purchased groceries, only to find out that the freezer is so frosted over that it was preventing the fridge working properly. I called VRBO and they would not help us at all but did say they sent an email to the property manager to fix the problem right away. I also emailed the property management company about the cleanliness and the broken fridge and no one ever responded. The bed in the main bedroom was broken in half so one side was lower than the other and the person would roll to the middle area. The only thing keeping us there was the high prices elsewhere and the fact that we couldn'tget a refund. The only good thing about it is the location. This is the absolute worst property I have ever stayed in and is totally unacceptable to tell renters they have a fridge when it doesn't work and to keep the place in total disrepair. This company should be ashamed of itself.

DO NOT STAY HERE!
This listing is inaccurate, and should be taken down. The property looks nothing like the photos. Furnishings were soiled, dirty and broken. The bathroom shower was full of mold, and there was hair in the beds. There were broken mirrors and light fixtures. The drawers and closets had not been cleaned in ages, and were both full of hair and dust. The property manager is impossible to communicate with, and I have been getting the runaround on getting a refund. RUN AWAY! STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Deceptive Listing
We stayed in this Waterloo property mid June for 5 nights for 5 people. The listing for the property shows a clean sparse apartment in a great location. The location is good but the neighborhood is a little sketchy. We waited for 45 minutes to be let in to the apartment, a 4th floor walk up. Upon entrance into the apartment, I was shocked. This was hands down the dirtiest, most run down apartment I have ever rented. I have taken multiple pictures, of which I'm happy to post, of what the apartment looked like upon our arrival. Linens were stained, stray hairs on pillows, dried blood on the floor, cabinets and drawers that were cracked and/or did not close correctly. Burnt out electrical outlets, mold/mildew in shower. The freezer was unusable because it was completely frozen over. The toilet was in a completely separate closet where my knees touch the wall in front of me me while sitting on the toilet (a 5'3 woman). Due to the increased number of tourists in London this June, we were afraid to complain and be homeless. So we sucked it up. For reference, my sister and her family stayed in a beautiful Notting Hill flat for $100 less a night. I just do not want anyone else to fall for the deceptive photos of this listing. Our tour agents were even shocked over the apartment and apologized for this predatory listing.

False advertising
We left the property within the first hour. Flat was beat up and dirty including mold in bathroom and stains on sleeper sofa. Outside stairs leading to flat were broken. We are hoping for a refund.
