Town: Lochboisdale is a picturesque port town resting near Daliburgh on the island of South Uist, Outer Hebrides. The village is known as an ideal port of entry for visitors to the Hebrides, as well as its stunning surroundings to enjoy fishing, scenic walks and sailing, with ferries frequently visiting St Kilda, Mingulay and Oban. Hiring a bike or car is a great way to explore the island and visit nearby attractions including Askernish Golf Course and the Kildonan Museum. Dining options include Lochboisdale Hotel for an à la carte menu and performances by local musicians, whilst Croft and Cuan offers takeaway food and there's a Post Office with a coffee shop, alongside a small selection of shops. Within easy reach of Lochboisdale lies Daliburgh, home to a larger supermarket to stock up on essentials, whilst Kildonan beach and Arinaban Woodland are two popular wildlife attractions nearby. The island of South Uist is known for idyllic, quiet sandy beaches with sparkling seas, as well as the majestic Beinn Mhòr and the Uist hills for avid hikers. Lochboisdale is an ideal location for exploring this wonderful island.
