The South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail, and many quiet country lanes make the area around Dartmouth ideal for bicycling and walking. The Dartmouth Steam Railway ride through the countryside to Paignton is a must, as is the boat ride across to Kingswear and on to the charming harbour town of Brixham. Blackpool Sands, winner of the Blue Flag Award, and Slapton Sands, a popular beach not far from Dartmouth, are just two of the many options available to beachgoers in the South Hams area. South Devon is a great place to unwind.
