I booked and paid for this reservation for my son and his fiancé. When they arrived they told my son that they had the reservation but no payment and had him pay again. When I called VRBO they confirmed that the payment he made went directly to the owner. After two weeks, with no response from the owner, we were finally able to get the first payment refunded.
As far as the stay, one of the bedrooms was missing a curtain and a light was shining through the whole night. There were also no shower supplies besides one bar of soap. (which they are not required to provide, but most quality places do). The stay was mediocre at best according to my son and then the hassle of being double charged put it over the top for us. Beware.
