An authentic Charleston home that offers "southern charm" in a convenient location downtown. Situated in the East Side, an “up-and-coming” neighborhood only blocks from many of the hotspots in Charleston. Enjoy walking the bridge and strolling to shops. Rent and ride bikes to the markets or breweries. Bars, restaurants, and downtown wedding venues are all less than five minutes away. You are right in the middle of everthing Charleston has to offer.

The space
Downstairs:
•Outside porch space and backyard access
•Fully stocked kitchen
•Living room with sectional sofa and small dining table

Upstairs:
•Laundry area at the top of the stairs
•Master bedroom with queen bed and private en-suite bathroom
•Second bedroom with queen bed
•Third bedroom with queen bed
•Second full bathroom shared between the bedrooms

Guest access
The home is a duplex with a separate one bedroom unit located on the first floor at the front of the house. Guests will have access to the entire second unit, the driveway for off-street parking, and the entire backyard. Please note that the upstairs porch is used for owner storage and is closed off for guests.

Other things to note
$75 non-refundable pet fee. Intention to bring pet and type of pet must be disclosed upon booking. Pet fee will be requested through the app after checking in. Failure to disclose the presence of pet will result in an additional $100 fine.

The home is strictly non-smoking indoors.

Please note that the home is located in a neighborhood that is in the midst of a rapid gentrification. It is a mix of younger families, young professionals, college students, and lower income housing. While we feel the home is in a great location (with a Walk Score of 80) and the locals in Charleston are as friendly as the come, the optics of the neighborhood may not be for everyone.

Questa casa vacanze si trova a Charleston e vanta una posizione strategica nel centro della città. A livello naturalistico, tra le principali attrazioni della zona ci sono Waterfront Park e Riverfront Park. Altre due tappe assolutamente da non perdere sono South Carolina Aquarium e Patriots Point. Neighborhood undergoing a renaissance...

Nearly dark upon arrival and neighborhood looked a bit shabby and rundown. Did not seem safe for 3 women to walk around. Was excited about the proximity to Ravenel Bridge UNTIL I was awakened in the middle of the night with serenades from the river boats accompanied by the trains thundering by whistling. The activities in the neighborhood were not loud at all so people respected the residents and guests. A quick stroll around the block late in the day revealed the diversity of dwellings: from ultra modern condos/apartments to really rundown and condemned properties. The property we stayed in was a vintage "shotgun" home with the entrances on the side porch. The porch and railings did not .look very safe and the yard was cluttered with construction trash. The house, I hope, is still under renovation - the closets did not have doors and only 1 of 3 bedrooms had a dresser in it. The upstairs balcony was sealed off due to hazardous circumstances and there was a toilet and at least a dozen rusted gallons of paint stored there. Kinda weird. There were a couple of encounters with roaches which is always yuk and one other cautionary tale to anyone who might stay there is the garbage disposal is wired using wire nuts under the sink and the button to run the disposal is there too. I think that might be an electric hazard in a wet area like under the kitchen sink. I think the wires should be enclosed in a junction box of some kind? The kitchen and bathrooms have been renovated and they are quite serviceable. The property mgmt company had a bunch of information for us which was great, too. For various reasons, we would not stay there again.

Good place for our family vacation

Renovated kitchen and all the supplies were nice. Renovated bathrooms were great as well.

Pictures are deceiving

Please beware pictures are filtered and deceiving. First thing you will notice is the porch is leaning bad. Paint chipping bad. Back yard is littered with junk and not well kept. living room furniture is stained. Ottoman and white couch had light stains. Vintage couch is beyond discolored and stained. I wouldn't sit on it. Floors also not level. Fridge had to be shimmed up. No light cover in the kitchen stairs upstairs very banged up. Water damage/mildew stains above stairs. upstairs there is an outside door that is cracked and so unsquare it doesn't line up and you can see the outside through the cracks. Paint slattered all over the floor. All doorways scuffed and banged up. Chipping paint on some doors and banged up. Bubbled paint from water damage in one of the rooms. No closet doors and some of the corners appeared dirty or stained the sink in master bedroom wouldn't drain had standing water. Home is located on a street with several boarded up homes and other graffiti covered homes. My husband and friends refused to stay there. Tried reaching out to host regarding our concerns and the fact we felt like we were mislead by the pictures and wanted a refund as I was having to book another place. I was basically told no refunds. I don't spend money to come come vacation at a place like that.. at the price we paid for 3 nights.... Very slow responses. Wouldn't answer.. finally was told they would refund the cleaning fee since we didn't stay but nothing else. Still haven't seen that either.
