The American Way cabin, is a cozy retreat nestled in Douglas Lake Resort. This charming 2 BR + Loft cabin offers a rustic patriotic ambiance, perfect for a relaxing getaway. With spacious interiors, a fully equipped kitchen, and a private covered deck, guests can unwind in comfort and style. Whether you're seeking adventure or simply seeking solace, this cabin is the ideal destination for a memorable vacation experience. Bring your boat or rent one locally. Boat ramp and community pool included.

The Space:
Many updates and upgrades have been made for the 2024 season. New furniture, TV's and outdoor furniture. American Way has 1 king bedroom, 1 queen bedroom, 2 full bathrooms and a loft. The loft has 3 twin beds and a sleeper sofa. Cozy living room with fully equipped kitchen. Wrap around covered porch with outdoor furniture. Douglas Lake Resort offers lake access, community pool, play ground and boat trailer parking. American Way is a perfect cabin for families.

Guest Access:
Guest have access to the entire cabin, community pool, play ground and boat ramp access. Trailer storage is also available.
Parking for 2-3 cars.

The Neighborhood:
Douglas Lake Resort is located in the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. Just minutes to all of the major attractions of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Easy drive and access to property. Close to shopping and groceries. Douglas Lake Resort offers guest boat ramp access to Douglas Lake, community pool and play ground.

Other Things to Note:
Pool season is Memorial Day to Labor Day. Lake levels lower in the off season. Water levels are high from May to September. Douglas lake drops water levels after September. Limited water access.

A great time

This was the perfect little cabin for two families to stay in! Great location, nice and clean, perfect loft upstairs with really cool beds for kids. We loved it!

Great Property for a getaway

Great location to anywhere in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. Close enough to everything but far enough to know your on vacation. Property owner was very attentive. Highly recommend.

Quaint Family Getaway

Wonderful stay! The host was very responsive and helpful. The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. We spent several evenings in the loft playing pool (we bought some pool cues at Walmart since the ones there were missing most or all of the tips). The covered deck was wonderful. Plenty of seating. The whole family could sit under the roof and watch the rain without getting wet. We we glad to find a small charcoal grill on the deck when we arrived. We used it to cook dinner two nights. The hot tub was great. The cabin was spotless when we arrived. The host supplied a decent starter set of consumables like toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, and dish soap. Plenty of towels were provided. The closets had extra blankets and pillows and even a few games. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes, silverware, and cookware. We really liked that there were two coffee pots - traditional and Keurig. The roads to the cabin were not bad. It was probably 30-45 minutes to attractions in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg with traffic. About 30 minutes to Knoxville. Bottom line: 100% would stay again!

Our stay was great! The home was exactly as described and very clean. The homeowner was available immediately when I messaged about a question and even sent us an item we forgot after we got home. He went above and beyond what he needed to and it was very much appreciated.

Just what we were looking for

This ticked all the boxes for us: close enough to visit smoky mountains with a lake and swimming pool just down the street. We had a great time! Property was just as pictured and our kids loved the beds in the loft and the pool table. Management and owners were very helpful, even mailed a wedding ring that got left behind.

Weekend away from home.

This cabin was very nice, clean inside. It is located on quiet place, but short drive (20 mins) to Sevierville, Pigeon Forge ..... We were very happy.

Not professional

Great place and location and although the contact responded pretty quick to text, the ac would not cool as a quarter in of dust was on it we cleaned it, the hot tub filter was full of dirt had to clean it, and there were three piles of dog poop on the deck beside and behind the hot tub we did not clean as we did not have an animal. Sent pics and text to the manager and he said he was sending maintenance little late and we saw no kind of discount or even sorry.

Really enjoyed our stay.

Everything was great. Very clean and plenty of towels. The rules were posted near the door. We knew what we were allowed to do and not do. It was close to where we wanted to hang out. Definitely would rent again.

Peaceful Retreat

Very quiet and peaceful location. 12 minutes to grocery store, 20 minutes to “town”. Pool table and hot tub was a hit with the teens. Very clean. Good water pressure! Definitely off the beaten path if that’s what you are looking for.

Away from the crowds.

Nice property with patriotic decor (my favorite part). The cabin was clean and fully stocked with plenty of towels, rags and kitchenware. I'd reccomend taking toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, laundry soap and trashbags as some things are there but in limited supply. There's no mountain view as many may think of when they're renting a cabin but it is quiet and has trees and brush behind the property. The jacuzzi was covered and clean. There is not a gas grill but there is a small charcoal grill that can be used on the gravel (not covered). There is not a firepit and no fires are allowed per the HOA. It's a rather quick walk to the boat launch and pool area but the walk is quite tiresome due to the inclines of the roads so I'd reccomend driving instead (lesson learned). The lake is great for boating/tubing. There's a grocery store and gas stations approximately 15ish minutes away. It's approximately half an hour to Dollywood and an hour and a half to the park.

Smokey mountain vacation

We have used Vrbo for years and this was the nicest property we have ever stayed at. So beautiful and very clean. Off the beaten path made a way to relax after the craziness of the Smokey’s and the cities. We loved the day we rented a pontoon and spent the day on Douglas Lake. Would recommend to anyone coming down.

Family Getaway

The cabin is beautiful and location was close enough to town to get supplies. We took our three grandchildren for a week to try something other than Disney. We all had such a great time. The cabin provides the perfect atmosphere for family.

Cutest cabin

This cabin was the perfect amount of space for me and my kids (21,18,13). We loved the space and everyone had their own bed. It was a little far from town, but still a great location.

I rented a cabin in the mountains, that had no view of the mountains. I actually had to drive somewhere in order to see the mountains, I could not see the sun rising or the sun setting. My last trip to Gatlinburg I had a gorgeous view, this cabin has no view

Nice short stay

We came for 2 days during our spring break. We loved the house. The closeness to many different activities and places to visit was nice. It was very quiet and away from all of the craziness in town.

Nice cozy cabin

Everything was perfect. No issues whatsoever! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! My only recommendation is to upgrade the mattresses, they’re a little worn but still slept fine. Would definitely stay here again!
