Good clean fun!

My group of friends has been staying at rental properties for over two decades and this was BY FAR the best experience. The property was very well-cared for, organized, and well stocked for visitors. They thought of so many details that make traveling easy (from a stockpile of firewood to the zip-top bags in the kitchen). There were plenty of games, books, and activities. We especially loved being able to take out the paddleboards, kayak, canoe, and paddleboat. If you plan to go out for drinks, there's a bar, Shady's, less than a mile from the cabin - making it walkable in moderate weather conditions. We didn't venture out much past that as there was plenty to do at the cabin. Our hosts, Robin and Jim, were wonderful enough to tell us the best spots to drop anchor in the lake and give us a tour without invading "our" space. They even asked us if there was anything they could do to improve and it felt so genuine that they wanted it to be an amazing experience and not like the forced survey experience at some car dealerships. Robin wants to update the railing in the entry to something that matches the spiral staircase - and we think that would be absolutely lovely! It would draw your eye all the way through the space. So, Robin, we hope you get your new railing!

Pine Lake near Avon/St Anna MN

Our stay with family and little granddaughter was very fun!! We found a hiking/biking trail in Holdingford MN and the BoHo cafe. The lake is somewhat small for long pontoon rides but we swam off it in the middle of the lake. We golfed at the Albany course and could find anything we needed near buy. Fish weren’t biting our fake bait but saw a bunch.

Amazing Lake House!

We enjoyed every second at the Red Oak Cottage! It had every amenity we needed and could think of. The house was a perfect fit for 9 people and the property was gorgeous! We enjoyed relaxing by the lake, swimming, boating, fishing, barbecuing, and roasting marshmellows around the fire pit! So many memories were made!

“A little note to our guests.” We have always enjoyed serving people. Since 1979 when we were first married and had first Christmas Party. It was in a 20' x 20' cabin that we rehabbed (before that was even a thing...) and had to entertain our guests in shifts because the space was so tight! :) Today we have more property and more space to accommodate our friends. And our incredible family has grown, but our hearts are still focused on helping people feel comfortable and enjoy the relationships and beauty around them. Many times, slowing down to enjoy some peace and quiet, reveals the blessing! We look forward to sharing our "happy place" with you. Jim and Robin
