Niagara house

The house was very clean but it smelled so strong of cleaners and air fresheners that it was hard to breathe. The neighborhood was not great, thankfully there was a fenced in parking area. We checked out a day early, messaged the company on VRBO and emailed them with no response.

Not what we expected

Due to many broken down deserted houses in the street we felt unsafe walking in the neighborhood . The staircase in the house was dangerous with different sized narrow steps and one banister was loose. For six people for 4 days we received 6 small thin towels and there were no hooks to hang them to dry other than over doors or furniture so we were forced to go and purchase our own towels . The cheap plastic bed protectors rustled like plastic bags under you every time you moved in the beds. There were insufficient plates for a party of 6. While the house advertises as being suitable for up to 8 people only 3 can sit comfortably in the living room. The bathroom door downstairs doesn’t close and it is very hard to close the upstairs bathroom door. A one star rating is generous for this property.

Lipstick on a Pig 🐷

The old expression “ Lipstick on a pig” comes to mind . Pictures of inside of the house “looked “ nice . Out side pictures were questionable. Reality……… neighborhood a bit run down . The house had many problems . Keep in mind this place is supposed to be set up for 8 . Tiny hotel room coffee pot .No “host” book for neighborhood. No info on restaurants, stores or anything like that . Steps to upstairs were dangerous, crooked & watch that 9th step ! It’s 2” taller then the rest .( we only know that because everyone kept tripping on it ) . 6 people & 6 towels for 2 nights stay ! No dryer to maybe dry the towels to use again . There was no extra showering if you’d like to ! Not enough dishes for our group. New doors on all rooms ………. Bathroom door down stair couldn’t even be shut because it rubbed. Same with door in upstairs bath. Back door hard to shut Same reason. Then there’s the Malberry trees that cover the deck . . Yea that was nice …. Berries all over out back . Unavoidable ! So you had stains all over your shoes , socks & good forbid you were barefoot. Your feet turned purple . I’ve stayed at a lot of Places & I’m understanding to a point . This place was brought in the getto, lipsticked & prettied up to look good , but for over $700 I’d never recommend to anyone . Beware !!!!! We did reach out to Niagara Rentals the first day to try & get more towels ( we had 3 women with us ) . Niagara Rentals never even bothered to return our text or calls . I must add….. the did send me a text asking if we left early could we let them know so the cleaning crew could. One clean the place early as they had it rented after we left . So thank you & 🖕🏿. I’ve used VRBO before & we enjoyed the other places . This makes me question using them anymore. “ Downtown Niagara Falls “ stay is a big 1 outta 10 . Lipstick On a Pig 🐷! Ken Smith Buena , NJ
