Located in the small town of Tumalo, the Guesthouse is only a 10 minute drive to Bend and a 15 minute drive to Sisters and Redmond. Doug and Caroline: We both like the outdoors and the activities that come with it. We like skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, horseback riding. We moved from Sonoma, California in 2012. We enjoy meeting people and sharing this beautiful spot, Central Oregon and Bend, with others. So we looked for a house that was near Bend, Oregon, just outside of town for a quieter experience, yet close to town and to Sisters, as well as near the mountains and hiking and rafting on the river, but far enough away to have some quiet relaxing time after adventures. We think our Rocking CR Ranch Guesthouse is a gem to share. It is one of two unique private homes that make up our Rocking CR Vacation Rentals.

This Rocking CR Ranch and Guesthouse, as part of our Rocking CR Vacation Rentals, is in Tumalo, just outside of Bend. It is on 5 acres with views of the Three Sisters Mountains, Broken Top and Mt. Bachelor. We wanted a property to be spacious, quiet, and open with views, near many adventurous spots, and to be able to relax. Mt. Bachelor is 35 minutes away. The mountains and hiking, fishing and biking are so easily accessed from Highway 20 and Highway 97, your access to Sisters, Redmond and Smith Rock, Bend Country Club and High Desert Museum. Many golf courses are only 10 minutes away.

Our Ranch Guesthouse is private with your own porch and patio with a view of the Cascade Mountains. Tumalo area is a quiet agricultural neighborhood where ranches have horses, llamas, alpacas, goats, cows, chickens, and of course dogs and cats, hay, vegetables, flowers, lavendar. Each ranch has a pond for holding irrigation water, and the sun shines nearly 320 days a year. In winter we get about 3-9 inches of snow on average, but the sun melts it soon. We are 12 miles to Sisters and the mountains, and 8 miles to Bend downtown. Tumalo has a gas station, country store, and great coffee shop that serves gluten free food, The Bite with family friendly food trucks and fun.
