Not what it looks like
Pre-arrival was great. Host communicated well.
We had booked with a Tuesday check out and ended up leaving Sunday morning.
We had several issues, and we contacted the host about them during our stay. While the host did acknowledge each message sent, none of them were resolved during our stay. No offer to send someone to address the concerns. We were politely told "thank you for bringing this to my attention."
Curb appeal was our first indication that this property was not what it looks like in the listing.

We considered not checking in, but we had no Plan B.
Safety: smoke alarm for the upstairs hallway ceiling was in the kitchen pantry. Lightbulb in the fixture at the top of the dark staircase / 2nd floor hallway was out.
The mattress cover on master bed was stained in multiple places. Master light fixture 2 of the 3 bulbs blown.
Second bedroom bed frame and box spring were the quality of something snagged from the side of the road.
The upstairs bathroom towel bar broken and sitting on top of the bath cabinet.
The dryer had sticky black stain/residue in the drum - we had to hang dry a load of laundry.
There were other items and issues that contributed to the discomfort so we decided to end our stay early. The host inquired why we checked out early. I provided a list of what we had already communicated along with other items we noticed. I sent photos of all issues to the host.
To date, we have received no response.
