Scarlett's Place by Mountain Vacation Lodging is a cute and cozy cabin with 2-Bedrooms plus a Loft Bedroom and 2 full bathrooms. It has an open concept living area with 2 story ceilings, a wood burning fireplace, large HDTV, and a full kitchen. This pet friendly property is a bit more updated and stylish than most vacation rental homes in the area. It also has property owners who have taken the time to think about what to have on hand to make guests comfortable and happy. Please read on for more details.

The Property:
When you enter, there's a small mud room with enough space for a couple of bikes, skis, boards, snowshoes, coats, hats, etc. From here you'll enter to the main living space of the home. The kitchen and dining area are one large room that ties together nicely. The kitchen features stainless steel appliances, and is more than fully equipped. You'll find lots of little extras here such as spices, coffee, and maybe even some doggie treats. You'll all feel right at home here. The kitchen has good flow around the butcher block island with bar seating for 3. Meal service and clean up is easy with the formal dining or game table right there in the same space. The dining set adds a contemporary touch to the space and has views of the front yard through large windows. There's also a small bar area in the corner that is perfect for your refreshments. A half wall and large doorway connect the dining and kitchen area to the living room. The living room is a very comfortable and inviting space. The leather furniture surround a large HDTV and a wood burning stove with natural rock surround that goes from the floor all the way up to the ceiling of the 2nd floor. The living room also has a sliding glass door that leads to the fenced back yard.

Both of the two bedrooms and bathrooms are on the main level, on opposite sides of the kitchen, dining area, and living room area. This provides a nice separation of space which can be helpful if someone in your group tends to snore. Bedroom 1 is off the living room. It has a Queen size bed and a private, en-suite bathroom. The bathroom has a bathtub/shower combo, a vanity with lighted mirror, and an assortment of supplies in case you forgot something or just like to pack light. Bedroom 2 is off the dining and entry area. It also has a Queen size bed. The second bathroom is just adjacent to bedroom 2, so it is accessible to those who might be staying in the Loft / Bedroom 3. The Loft / Bedroom 3 overlooks the living room, and is accessed via a normal set of stairs. It has a Full size bed and a 2 Twin / Trundle bed.

The back yard is a pretty good size and includes a gate for easy access to the parking area. The back yard includes a firepit and BBQ grill which are both fueled by propane tanks, which are provided. There's also an outdoor dining table with comfy chairs and an umbrella. There's even a cornhole set for your entertainment. If you're visiting in months where snow is likely, please note that some or all of these back yard items may be removed for seasonal winter storage. This home backs up to a privately owned, but large wooded parcel of land, which makes the back yard feel like it is next to the national forest. That said, please note that there are homes on each side of the rental property, and any guest of this home will need to be respectful and neighborly.

Location:
Scarlett's Place is centrally located and very close to everything in the area. Pine Beach and the Green Ridge boat ramp on Shadow Mountain Lake are only 1 mile away and the Stillwater boat ramp on Lake Granby is only about 2 miles. Downtown Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park are only 4 miles away. The Idleglen trailhead at Stillwater pass only 2.5 miles of dirt road from your door.

Arrival, Access, and Parking:
Once you book, we're here to support you. We offer professional concierge services, provide you with arrival instructions, and answers to any specific questions you might have. Accessing the cabin from the parking area or back yard requires a couple of steps. There is also one step down from the kitchen and dining to the living room. Other than that, there's just the one flight of stairs if you're using the loft bedroom. Parking is outdoor and uncovered. There is space for 4 vehicles. If you are planning to bring a snowmobile or another type of trailer, there is probably plenty of space, but please confirm the parking suitability before booking, since parking on the county road is prohibited.

** Air Conditioning - Most mountain resort properties were not built with air conditioning. During most hours of the day and weeks of the year, AC is not needed. Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Check the average high and low temperatures and weather forecast for your dates of travel, and look at the list of amenities to see if AC or fans are part of the rental property and look for ceiling fans in photos.
​​​​​​​** Pets & Fees - “Pet Friendly” means Dog Friendly only. If a property is pet friendly, then a per pet, per night fee will apply. Some online booking sites, such as VRBO, do not allow us to list the maximum number of pets per property. If you are renting a pet friendly property, and will have more than one dog, please reach out prior to booking to verify if the home will allow more than one dog. Additional fees will apply for more than 1 dog.
** Group Sizes, High Occupancy Fees, & Maximum Occupancy - Some properties use a “High Occupancy Fee” to “raise the rate” for larger groups, and are thus able to list a lower nightly rate for smaller groups. Each rental agreement and associated rates are for a specific group size. Guests must enter the correct and maximum group size at the time of booking. Cameras are positioned to cover all entrances and exits of the home. Cameras are present to ensure the property remains secure and safe, as well as to ensure that guests are honest and upfront about their planned use of the property. If you plan to bring more people than you've indicated, more dogs than indicated, to host a party or event, or do not intend to respect neighbors or the value and quality of the property, then this is not the place for you, and you should not book the property. For normal, respectful groups, we are sorry that these statements and measures are necessary. Security cameras and noise monitoring devices are an example and demonstration that the property's owners are taking steps to ensure the home remains available for rental, and in good condition, for your benefit. ** Cleaning Fees & Lengthy Rental Periods - The standard cleaning fee quoted as part of any booking is for the final cleaning, which is to be performed after the rental period has ended. Great Winter Respite
We had nice family long weekend at this house during a snow storm and the sunny aftermath. The house is cozy and warm and the kitchen and bathrooms are well appointed and stocked. The backyard was a godsend for my two dogs. Definitely recommend to all Grand Lake (and Lake Granby) visitors.

Inviting and cozy
Lovely tucked away home with large fenced in backyard. Perfect for doggies to run around. Neighborhood is safe and quiet, and just up the road from beautiful Grand Lake. Home was loaded with amenities to make our stay comfortable and seemed to have a newer kitchen and bathroom fixtures. Would stay again.

Family vacation
The cabin was very well stocked. We cooked our meals instead of going out and there was plenty of dishes and cooking stuff. Bbq and spare tank was provided. We were very happy to see the backyard was fully fenced since we had 2 dogs with us.
