The property is NOT a vacation rental, it is up for sale!

A group of 7 hula dancers came to experience the magic of the island's annual hula festival in Hilo, so it was a very important event. This property was hard to find, impossible to enter and it was listed for sale! The property 'owners' did not answer or return our calls for assistance in gaining access into the property. When we called the number of the agent listing the sale of the house, she informed us it was NO LONGER a vacation rental; the water was turned off and it was on the market! All of this happened after a confirmation email from "DAVE" who supposedly owns the home and listed it as a vacation rental. I do NOT recommend this property; it is a fake ad and VRBO should remove it from their listings.

Left stranded with no rental in the dark

Zero communication from Dave, the local contact/owner. Property also contracts with company called evolve. I tried to contact dave for 2 weeks prior to check in. Never received 1 response. Evolve is basically a call center who will answer the phone but can’t actually help & just directs you to contact local owner ( who they knew was not responding). We showed up at dark to this home unable to get in. No street lights or house lights, sketchy area, fireworks shooting off in the street. Had to find a hotel to stay (2 rooms for six people) last minute. Much more expensive and stressful to find something last minute. I would never recommend this place. Vrbo should not allow owners who have stranded customers. I would rate a zero if I could.

Great family home

We enjoyed staying at this house. It was beautiful and had all the amenities you could need. We would've loved central AC because it was REALLY hot in the house, but the portable AC and wall unit in the rooms were fine. We sat on the lanai and enjoyed the cool air outdoors as well.

Nice, modern home

It appears the home has been recently remodeled and almost everything was new and looks really good. The home is also very clean. The manager was very helpful in communicating before we stayed telling us what was needed to make our stay comfortable. During our stay they were also available by phone and text if we had questions. The listing mentions they have A/ C. However, after making the reservation they sent another email mentioning you need to request it. These are window units, not central air. The main reason we chose this house is because it had A/C. It’s difficult to find a house with A/C in Hawaii.

Great property in a great location. Very responsive manager.

No issues with the property. Was as advertised plus some. The attention to detail was nice. A cooler and some kids toys and games were a nice little extra.
