The photos do not do it justice the villa is perfect, everything you need with so many choices of where to sit to enjoy the spectacular views. The pool is in the lovely grass area refreshing and clean the garden is full of pretty plants to make the property homely and welcoming thank you we will be back

Unfortunately when we arrived the villa was not clean and we had to spend money on cleaning equipment. Some towels were stained as was some bedding. No blinds for 48 hours in master bedroom but then were fixed. No hot water for 48 hours as boiler broke. Very limited equipment in the kitchen, we had to buy foil baking trays. Garden and pool and outdoor areas were great though. Loved the area sadly not the villa.

Great villa

Lovely place, great setting, pool is fantastic and has been improved since the photos were taken. Would recommend a car. Only small issue was with the kitchen and bbq, needs some more basic equipment, tongs decent knives etc. Don’t let that put you off though, was brilliant.

Fab holiday

Villa was spacious and comfortable. Location tranquil and accessible to journeys. Pool loved by children. Cleaning lady kept property and surroundings clean and smart. Many thanks. Needed a car with 2 young children to get to the beach and, back up the hill, in the heat.

Perfect retreat

Villa Giannis was a great base and the town was perfect with everything you could need including a lovely beach with beachside restaurants and shops. The pool at the villa was amazing and whole villa was very well equipped and clean. The only things to bear in mind are that I wouldn't say that can walk from the town. although not very far, it is up a very steep hill and you really need a car. The pool is slightly different from the image here. it has a very shallow part now for small children but the main pool is still very large and good depth for adults or older children. Thank you!

Our party of eight loved villa Giannis. The pool and garden are excellent. There are also 3 patios to choose from for a bit of peace and quiet. The walk into Kalyves takes about 20 minutes (back is harder as it is uphill). We used the local cab firm when we had to carry shopping from the well stocked Synca supermarket. Crete taxivan (about 10 euros per trip). Villa Giannis and the neighbouring villa Dimitris are a little bit of paradise (even with five teens). Chania is about 30 mins by cab away and it is about the same distance from the airport. Agni travel who manage the villa are very efficient too.We had a few requests for special food for someone with allergies before we got here and they were brilliant. A big thanks to all. If we return to Crete, it will be here.

Villa Giannis was a great place to stay for us. It was only a short 20min walk to the front where there are a multitude of bars/restaurants, all of a high standard. As the villa was up a hill there is always going to be some uphill walking and in the heat some people might find this difficult, especially with full shopping bags as all the shops we found are down at the front. While it wasnt a problem for us (we are in our mid 60s) older or less active people could find it problematic. But there are good taxi links from the centre to the villa. There is a bus from the town centre (Kalyvas) to Chania and Google will tell you the times but the last bus back there is only at 18:00, a bit early for our liking but good enough for a decent stay at the main local city. As stated earlier, the villa was great and well looked after but be aware if you have small children as its not very child friendly, lots of places for the little mites to climb up/through/around. But our youngster loved the small pool which adjoin the main pool and would stay in as long as allowed. So to sum up... Fantastic place slightly out in the hills so very quiet, yet local enough to the town to walk. Would recommend and hopefully stay there again if possible.

Excellent quiet villa

Villa Giannis was a great place to stay for us. It was only a short 20min walk to the front where there are a multitude of bars/restaurants, all of a high standard. Super Haus und sehr gepflegter Außenbereich

Die Lage und der gepflegte Außenbereich mit Pool sind hervorragend. Sehr guter Service mit Zwischenreinigung.Die Bäder und die Küche könnten eine Erneuerung gebrauchen aber insgesamt hatten wir einen sehr guten Urlaub.

Villa mit atemberaubender Aussicht

Zuerst einmal: von der Buchung , bis zum Check-in, alles super gelaufen. Nette Kommunikation mit dem Eigner und auch mit der Agentur. Die Villa selbst liegt in einer sehr ruhigen Gegend, weit genug weg von der nächsten Ortschaft (5 Minuten mit dem Auto), umgeben von Olivenhainen, mit einer atemberaubenden Aussicht auf die Berge. Angekommen und erst einmal die Villa von innen gecheckt. Nun ja, die Bilder entsprechen der Realität, jedoch darf man keinen deutschen Standard erwarten. Die Sauberkeit könnte man sicherlich verbessern aber das hat uns nicht weiter gestört. Die Möbel sind alt und besonders die Schränke der Küche riechen etwas streng, wenn man die Türen aufmacht aber auch das ist zu verkraften. Alle Zimmer sind ausreichend groß und es sind genug Schränke vorhanden. Die Betten werden regelmäßig frisch bezogen und die Handtücher oft genug gewechselt. Wem das nicht ausreicht, für den gibt's ne Waschmaschine. Ein absolutes Highlight ist der große Pool, der auch regelmäßig gereinigt wird! Die gesamte Außenanlage wird top gepflegt. Einzig das Ungeziefer wäre für uns zu bemängeln. Also ein paar Euro investieren und schon hätte man an allen Fenstern und Türen Fliegennetze/ Fliegentüren, sodass man auch Nachts bei Licht alles auflassen könnte. Da wir regelmäßig zerstochen werden, ging das bei uns leider nicht. Fazit: Top Villa in top Lage! Wir würden sie wieder mieten aber unsere Kinder fliegen nicht mehr mit und somit ist sie für uns zu groß!

Schöne Lage -Küche und Bad könnten eine Renovierung vertragen

Sehr schöne Lage mitten in einem Olivenhain. Ruhig gelegen und trotzdem recht nah zu Einkauf und Restaurant. Toller Pool und Garten. Sehr nette Betreuung vor Ort, zweimal pro Woche wird gereinigt und frisch bezogen. Einige Stellen hätten trotzdem sauberer sein können. Wohn/Esszimmer recht groß . Zwei sehr schöne Terassen. Die Bäder beide recht altbacken und mit einigen notwendigen Reparaturen. Die Küche recht funktionell, auch recht stark in die Jahre gekommen ebenso wie die Kochutensilien. Einige Schränke krass muffig.

Great Holiday at Kalyves

The property was as expected very clean, pool fantastic. Looked after well by the house keeper who sorted any issues out. The only issue that needs addressing is that there were only 4 sundowners and as the place is marketed as a 3 bedroom there should have been at least 6. Will be taking this up with Agni travel.

Fijn verblijf, erg goed verzorgd door de eigenaar. Maakt afspraak over het moment van poetsen en vervangen van lakens en handdoeken. Zeer schoon zwembad. De lokatie is heerlijk. Afstand naar Kalyves is prima te voet te overbruggen. We hebben genoten.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable, restful time. I guess that we are not typical clients in that we hardly do any exploring as we come to rest and relax and that is exactly what we did!! The villa gave us everything that we required. Quiet. Lovely well maintained garden. Nice clean well maintained swimming pool that was a sensible depth for the whole length. Would happily use Villa Giannis or its neighbor Villa Dimitris in the future. Thank You.
