Outstanding Views
We stayed here 4 days in May. The views are as advertised- as spectacular as any you can find around Lake Como.
The house is solid, tucked into the hillside. There is a spacious balcony to relax on, have a meal and enjoy the views. The bed was firm but comfortable. The shower worked well. There is a large TV for Italian shows. There is a downstairs terrace with lots of seating and a good view. We didn't spend much time there but a larger group would have enjoyed that spot too.
The yard is vertical and spacious, with terraces and seating at multiple levels. The plants and flowers are various and attractive. There is great security with an imposing fence and electronic gate. You can't see any neighbors from the balcony. You can watch bikers and walkers challenging the hills. There is an occasional loud motorbike.
We're in our 60's, so the slopes and steps were a bit of a challenge with our bags. Someone younger would likely have no issues.
If you want spectacular views and a quiet, relaxing haven, this is perfect. We mentioned to each other a few times that we couldn't believe how beautiful it was. Just be aware that it takes 25 minutes to get to town and it was sometimes a challenge getting taxis. We contracted the private car service recommended by our host and after that life was good- although pricey.
This was a once in a lifetime trip for us and our stay at this villa in Cernobbio was a highlight.
