Set within four peaceful acres of North Devon countryside, this beautifully designed luxury barn blends rustic character with relaxed coastal living — light-filled interiors, exposed beams, underfloor warmth and quiet views in every direction.

Upstairs: super king bedroom with hotel-quality linens, an exceptionally comfortable mattress, a glass balcony overlooking the living space below, and a freestanding copper bath for spa-like soaks at the end of the day, with luxurious robes provided.

You'll have exclusive, private use of The Shippon and its surrounding 4-acre grounds — including the kitchen garden, fire pit area, hammock and secure dog paddock. The barn is fully self-contained, with no shared spaces and no passing traffic, offering complete privacy throughout your stay.

Nestled in peaceful North Devon countryside, Nethercott Hamlet offers a quiet escape surrounded by rolling fields, bridleways and scenic footpaths — perfect for walking, cycling and switching off in nature.



The Shippon is ideally located just minutes from Croyde, Saunton, Putsborough and Woolacombe beaches, making it perfect for surf trips, coastal walks and beach days. Enjoy great local walks to Georgeham, Croyde and Putsborough, with the coast just 2.5 miles away.



Nearby Braunton is known for its relaxed surf culture, independent cafés, pubs and restaurants, while Braunton Burrows — a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve — offers stunning dunes and wildlife.



For dining, the area is well known for excellent gastropubs and seafood — The Thatch in Croyde, The Williams Arms in Braunton and Squire's Fish and Chips are all local favourites.

Getting Around:

We have off-road parking for one car with an electric car charger. I would recommend using a car to get around but there is a bus stop approximately 1 mile from the barn



Other Things to Note:

We have a few policies in place to ensure all guests enjoy a relaxing, safe, and comfortable stay:



Check-in is from 4:00 pm, and check-out is by 10:00 am. Early arrival or late departure may be available on request but is not guaranteed.



The lead guest must be 25 years or older. We reserve the right to request photo identification.



No parties or events – this is a peaceful countryside setting and we ask all guests to respect that.



No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.



Dogs: We welcome well-behaved, house-trained dogs (maximum of two). Dogs must be kept downstairs only and off all furniture.



No fake tan, please – it can cause permanent stains to our luxury bedding and towels. Any damage may incur a replacement or cleaning fee.



Lost keys: A £50 fee applies to cover locksmith or replacement costs.



Optional Sofa Bed Available

If you would like to use the sofa bed, please let us know in advance so we can prepare it for you. There is a charge of £15 per night for additional guests using the sofa bed.



EV Charging Available

We have an EV charger available on-site. Charging is offered at a flat rate of £15 per charge.

Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring an electric vehicle so we can make sure the charger is available and accessible.



Wi-Fi & Utility Services

We make every effort to ensure all advertised amenities, including Wi-Fi, are available throughout your stay. However, internet and utility services are provided by third-party suppliers, and occasional outages beyond our control may occur.



If an issue arises, we will act promptly to report it and work to restore the service as quickly as possible.
