House was very clean & in a great location on the canal. Was very peaceful watching boats go by on the canal. Did some fishing on the canal too. We saw horses nearby! Unfortunately our trip was cut short due to a family emergency, but I would definitely stay here again. Hosts very responsive. 5 stars all around.

This house was awesome. It is off the main roads. So you don't have to see the horse tours all the time. All around great place.

Beautiful Outer Banks

Far up north in the 4x4-area is this beautiful cottage with water access and wild horses nearby. Sunny deck and screened porch. Walk to the beach. 30 minutes drive to Corolla (for shopping and restaurants) via beach access road. Very calm neighborhood. It is recommended to bring extra fresh water bottles for drinking.

Great rental house

Clean, quiet and great location with private dock on the canal. House is well maintained, immaculately clean and fully stocked with kitchen utensils, pots and pans, and a grill outside. Plenty of room for my family plus more. I would definitely stay again!

Beach getaway

Property is away from the normal crowded areas of the beach traffic having a 4 by 4 beach drive very scenic and beautiful. The house has more than enough room for my family and amenities for kitchen and living space that I like when traveling. We will be staying here in the future!!!

Wonderful Getaway

Took my two young sons for their first trip to Carova. This property was perfect for us and I would not hesitate to stay here again. Communication with owner was superb and they were extremely helpful. Highly recommended!

Great get away!

Property was exactly waht we were looking for. Super clean! We saw horses every day and even had a parade of 4 walk right underneath the deck! We loved the remoteness of the location but still close enough we could head to town. Owners were responsive to our questions throughout the stay.

Vacation

Great location secluded on the beach!!! Plenty of room and kitchen amenities to cook and the feel of your own beach house. Not a lot of noise which is relaxing. Close to the wild horses which is what this home affords. Had a great time with family and hope to come back real soon!!!

The place was very clean and comfortable. The water smelled terrible, but we understand that happpens up on the beach, but also know it can be better. Was really disappointed that there was no hot tub as mentioned in the property listing. Overall a really good stay and would consider the property again.

Quiet cottage close to beach access.

This is a very well maintained home. You can tell it has some age on it, but everything is in great condition and was spotless upon arriving. I missed the part about not having a dishwasher, so that’s on me. A few more washcloths would have been nice but not a huge deal. The canal was beautiful and we had some horses visit us one evening. It only takes about 3 or 4 minutes to get to the Carova fire station and to the beach, which is very convenient. The property manager was very prompt with all of my questions. The water pressure was great in the showers, which is sometimes hit or miss in rental homes. We love staying in the Carova area and would rent this property again.

Canal Fishing & Beach Chilling Perfection

House was very clean, spacious yet cozy, and well stocked with necessities and games for entertaining. The decor was tastefully done yet still gave you space to put personal belongings in bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas. The outdoor space was great for morning coffee, grillin & chillin, and storage of beach and fishing gear. Tossing in a fishing line at the canal in the morning and evening was great entertainment. We have 4 young kids and the trip was perfect. We hope to get back again!!

Great Place to stay

All I can say is the pictures do not do the house justice. The place is VERY clean and well maintained house. It has a fully stocked kitchen, the bedrooms are all good sized with good beds, the owner provided all linens and towels. It has wifi that works. The location is great we really enjoyed sitting out on the dock and deck in the evenings. It also has a huge screened in porch. I had a few small questions during my stay and the owner promptly replied to all of them. I can't say enough about our stay it exceeded all of my expectations. I will definitely be staying here again.

Fantastic property

We had a terrific stay. The place was clean, had all the amenities we would need, and the location was amazing. We caught catfish and crab right off the canal and cooked the crabs up that night in a low country boil. Had an extra fridge/freezer down below if needed. We saw horses everyday on the property. We looked up the ISS flyover and could see it perfectly due to the lack of light pollution. Cell service and internet was great. Had an amazing time and will book this place again over others.

Private and Quiet

Great location and enjoyed the stay. View of the wild horses across the canal almost every morning and evening. Great fishing right off the easy accessible dock. Only complaint I could have is the water in the house. The water softener system needs maintenance regularly. There was a very strong sulfur “rotten egg” smell in the water and all towels and toilets were stained orange.

Incredible Stay

I can't rave enough about this property. It fully captures the essence of Carova Beach and is an ideal property for anyone looking to experience all that Carova Beach has to offer. The house was immaculate and offered plenty of room for our party of 6 (all adults). We loved the rustic feel of the wood floors and shiplap. The decor and furniture provided the perfect feel of a remote beach paradise. The decks and docks provide the perfect outdoor activity areas. We visited in December so jumping in the canal for a swim was off the table, however I can imagine it would be a perfect swimming hole in the warmer months. We strongly recommend anyone traveling to Carova Beach to check this property out. The hosts have done an excellent job in keeping this property up. It really is amazing!

Peaceful getaway

This was our first trip to the 4x4 area and it was amazing! The house was easy to find and perfectly furnished. There is one house next door but otherwise it is very private. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings and it was extraordinarily peaceful! The neighborhood was very quiet and dark at night which was ideal for relaxing and watching the stars. Communication with the owners was seamless and quick. We took the kayaks out one afternoon onto the canal and thoroughly enjoyed the leisurely paddle. The dock at the house was convenient and a great place to hang out and enjoy a glass of wine! We wouldn’t hesitate to come back to this lovely house. Although it has been said before, I’ll concur that you must have a 4-wheel drive to access the house. As another reviewer stated, it is easiest to drive all the way up the beach until you reach the “Shark Rd” ramp. GPS may direct you off the beach and into the neighborhood but the beach is easier to drive on than the other roads if it has been raining (they can have massive deep puddles). It’s a great adventure and I can’t recommend this vacation spot enough!

Very clean!

This property was very clean and well maintained. The location was unexpected. We did not anticipate just how far we had to travel on the beach to get there. We had not stayed anywhere like it before.

Lovely Home

We had a wonderful stay. The home was clean, well furnished, comfortable and linens were plenty. Kitchen was well equipped and Keurig was a plus. Communication with the owner was easy and we received prompt replies. Only suggestion I have is to add a lamp to the master bedroom. The listing did say there was a hot tub when we booked but there is no hot tub. You will love your stay at this home for sure. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your home!

Extremely Clean home in perfect location

We just returned from staying here and it was the best beach experience I have ever had! The house was a minute drive to the beach but still very private. The gps took us through some extra bumpy neighborhoods so we learned to look for the cell phone tower and fire station sign and turn in there since the street was not listed on gps. We stopped at Food Lion on our way in to stock up on food for the week (make sure to grab all paper products). We cooked on the grill every day and was able to enjoy our meals peacefully outside. We really loved the location because we noticed the beach was not as crowded in that area which was perfect for my family.

A Great Week in the Outer Banks

The house was exactly what we expected and then some. We did have some set backs towards the end of our week, but that was not due to this great location. Spencer & Kelley both were helpful for our set back. Thank you both!

Wonderful experience!

Our Girl Scout troop thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Corolla. We had great service from our property owner when wifi went down. And overall we had such a pleasant time staying off the beach road with the wild horses wondering through our property. It was such a unique and memorable experience for our girls. Highly recommend this place and location to everyone!

Great time

Wow! This was fantastic. Size of the house and location was great. Driving south the other day we realized that we didn’t miss the commercial amenities of Corolla. Each day at the beach was so peaceful.
