We had the perfect stay for our fishing weekend in Pueblo! Darrell and Mary were wonderful hosts — friendly, responsive, and easy to communicate with throughout our trip. The home was very clean, spacious, and thoughtfully stocked with little extras that made us feel welcome, including toiletries, coffee, snacks, and even a few drinks waiting for us upon arrival. We truly appreciated the attention to detail and would absolutely stay here again!

We booked hoping for a peaceful stay but ran into significant noise from the host’s puppy and later loud cleaning after the puppy made a mess. We were aware of the shared walls and that the property was pet-friendly, but we didn’t realize it would have such an effect on our stay as guests. The shared walls made the barking and the vacuuming/banging very noticeable, which made it hard to rest, especially later in the evening and early mornings. We ended up leaving early and requested a refund for the unused nights; the host only offered one night back. Communication was polite throughout, but it was unfortunate a better resolution to the situation couldn’t be reached

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations, but we do feel it is important to provide some additional context for future guests reading this review. We have proudly hosted guests through VRBO for more than nine years and have consistently maintained excellent, 5-star-plus guest ratings. We take great pride in providing a clean, comfortable, welcoming place to stay and in communicating openly with our guests. As disclosed prior to booking, this is a pet-friendly property and guests are sharing our home. While we certainly understand that occasional household and pet noise may be noticeable, the concerns raised during this stay occurred during normal daytime/evening hours and before our established 11:00 p.m. quiet hours. The vacuuming referenced in the review was simply part of promptly cleaning up after our puppy—something we believe responsible hosts should do. We remained polite and responsive throughout the stay and made every reasonable effort to address the guests’ concerns. The guests ultimately chose to leave early and requested reimbursement for unused nights. After reviewing the circumstances, we did not believe a refund was warranted under the terms of the reservation. After nine years of hosting and many wonderful guest experiences, we understand that every property will not be the right fit for every traveler. Guests seeking a completely private, pet-free, or silent environment may be better served by different property

Amazing Rental

The location was great for all the hikes and white water rafting activities along the Royal Gorge. The hosts were very kind and flexible. Would recommend anyone to stay here!

A place to stay again and again!!

If all the places we’ve stayed over the years, this place was ABSOLUTELY the BEST! Very clean, very private and minutes from just about anyplace. My family and I would most definitely stay there again and again! Owners are very friendly and attentive when needed.

This was an amazing place to stay. the house was beautiful and the check in and check our process was so easy. The area was quiet and made it easy to come home and relax after being out and about all day to a nice view.

Simply awesome

Perfect!

Owners were absolutley great. Porperty was clean, quite and safe. Inside was clean and very well stocked with everything we needed. The snacks and beverages were a very nice touch. We will definitly stay there again. Bronco and Gracie are great mascots!!

Family funeral gathering

This property was a serene getaway just gorgeous & perfect for our group of 6 & 2 dogs. I cant say enough about our host ! We are vrbo travelers & this was by far the best.we asked for favors & he accommodated all. We were very comfortable. Grab this place when you can you will Love it! We plan to stay again next time we come through. We also had family in a motor home plenty of space to park & very dog friendly thanks again !

Beautiful and clean.!!

Very courteous and accommodating at all times! Went above and beyond to pickup and stage groceries prior to arrival. Provided all my prior requests.! Super Friendly and will definitely return next year and each year after that. Only I would suggest instructions on TV and DVD.

Mary and Darrell bring a wealth of life experience and a warm, welcoming spirit to their home in Pueblo West. Originally from Minnesota, Mary has called Colorado home since 1978. She’s retired from a long career with United Airlines and now enjoys the peaceful, country lifestyle. Darrell, a Colorado native from Alamosa, is a Navy veteran with a BS degree from Adams State University. With over 40 years in the auto industry, he’s a wealth of knowledge and a proud Coloradan through and through. Darrell is currently a licensed Farmers Insurance Agency Owner in Pueblo, Colorado.

Together, they’re empty nesters with a Bernese Mountain Dog - Gracie, and they moved to Pueblo West to be closer to family. Mary and Darrell love sharing the tranquility of their country home with others, enjoying the slower pace and the natural beauty of Pueblo West and southern Colorado.
