The location was great and was a great view. We have several suggestions to improve this rental:
- we received several emails over time. They all had the same attachments on how to use the condo, where to go, etc. A lot of good information. But it escaped me, that the emails did not have the access information. Only the last email, which seemed the same as previous ones, had the door access codes. I would suggest to include the door access code in the attachment information that also discusses how to dispose of the trash and turning on the heater, etc. Unfortunately for us, the phone number listed on the emails and attachments was not operational. We could NOT get in touch with the owners!!!!! We tired contacting the management facility there, and they NEVER responded. We really thought we would not be able to get in. Luckly, HomeAway was able to solve our problem, or we would have been locked out. So, please verify the phone number provided. AND include the access code information in all your email correspondences.
- the second major complaint was during the hot week we where there, the condo was uncomfortably hot in both the main living area and the bed room. The ceiling fans did nothing, nor did the ONE $15 dollar floor fan. At the least, have two more robust floor fans, one for the main living space and one for the bedroom. At the best, install a room air conditioner. We stayed at multiple places during our stay at the Big Island, Maui, and Oahu and ALL had air conditioners.
The condo was clean and pleasant. And only about 6 miles from town. So, it was convenient. If the condo was air conditioned, we would have given it 4 stars. If the furniture on the deck was more comfortable, five.
