This is our 5th stay in Evian, 1st time at 131.
When we pulled up to 131, I thought I was in the wrong place. For the picture on the site showed a nicely groomed path to the door. As seen live, not so much. Well no bother, we aren’t going to be staying outside. I like the coded locking front door. Adjust the glass storm door, it closes too fast. If you have an appendage in its path, it will leave a mark.
The other reviews are true, this place needs to be updated. Yes as with all Evian properties it is extremely convenient, however with the money spent, more amenities need to be updated. The toilet in the master bedroom needs to be repaired, must hold the handle down in order for it to flush. It felt like the toilet in the spare bathroom was miniature. There is no place to fold clean laundry except the top of the washer and the dryer, which was rusty. The sliding doors to the washer and dryer need adjustment so they open and close properly.
Musty odor as soon as we walked into the home, we had to quell with candles and Febreeze spray. Did not want to open the windows for the sills were littered with bugs. Plus only 2 windows could be opened that had screens. Wish there was a screen door leading out to the deck.
This place gets very little sunlight, replace the shaded blinds leading to the deck with regular Venetian blinds to let in some light. Replace the Venetian blinds that are damaged, bent, moldy and rusted. Replace the light lenses in the kitchen so they all match.
It was cleaned, to a point. The peaks in the ceiling had spider webs. The wall paper was peeling in areas. Some areas of the unit need to be repainted, actually repaint the whole thing. As stated before, the window sills need to be blown out and cleaned. When turning down the bed, we noticed that there was still human hair on the bed, and on the pillows, YUCK…Causing a trip to Home Goods for fresh linens. It appeared the linens were not changed. Or if they were, someone slept in them before we arrived.
When replacing the light lenses in the kitchen, remove the dead lizard.
This may seem picky for only staying 7 days, however when spending the equivalent of a monthly mortgage payment for a week, expectations are going to be high.
We have stayed in other areas of Evian spending less money and getting much more. Unfortunately those properties were not available this go around.
With some effort 131 could be a very nice place. Spend the money to get it corrected.
