Hare Pin Inn is super for those looking to be far away from everything, but close enough to everything, too. We spent time running and kayaking at Lake Junaluska, hiking in Maggie Valley, and shopping/eating in Waynesville. The Pigeon River is close by, and there's a pull off near the cabin where you can splash in the river with your pup. Cheryl was a great communicator and always quick to respond to my questions.
The backyard is a huge plus. We spent a ton of time out there stargazing, fire-pitting, and hot-tubbing. It's a great place to decompress and make wishes on shooting stars (we saw some each night we were there!). Cheryl had a big load of firewood delivered so we could keep the fire going and keep us warm while we watched the skies.
My only complaint is that the kitchen was lacking basics that other VRBOs have (and so I didn't think to bring). Olive oil, tin foil, plastic wrap would be beneficial additions. Also, while there is a washer and dryer, there wasn't any detergent (except for the ONE cup provided so you can wash a load of towels on the way out). Soap for the shower would have been a welcomed item, as well. As an experienced VRBO-er, these are things I've come to expect with my rentals and small changes that could be made with Hare Pin Inn to make the rental experience more positive.
