Out in the woods…

This is the second time I’ve stayed at this property and I absolutely love it. It’s the perfect mix of ‘out in the woods’ but close enough to town for other fun. I enjoyed the morning walks down the river path, enjoying my coffee by the river and ending my nights at the fire pit. We came with three adults and 4 teenage boys. The boys loved exploring the property and the game room. This is one of those places that melts the stress away and has all the charms of a cabin in the woods with all the conveniences of home. We created a lot of great memories here as this was our last vacation before we send our oldest to college. I’m confident we will be back again!!

Great Spot

Great spot in some wilderness but very close to Traverse city. It was a nice venue to gather family and friends.

Beautiful Secluded Getaway Along 2 Rivers

Property is indisputably stunning. The grounds had plenty of space to have your friends, family and dog run around care free. The primary cabin was also beautiful (as you can see from the pictures alone) - I would recommend bringing your own knives, and pots and pans if you are a cooking enthusiast. We made due with primarily BBQing and still had a great time. All things considered, really great place for family and friends who are really comfortable with each other as there is a mostly shared sleeping arrangements. Would highly recommend and would stay again.

The property is spectacular the woods and river and surroundings where so calming and worth every penny of our stay. Great memories were made. We thank you for the beautiful peaceful property rental. Only thing we needed that we didn’t have was a larger fry pan. Wonderful job on this land.

Perfect Winter Getaway

Excellent property and owners. Very peaceful and serene. Kids, dog and wife absolutely loved this property. The snow in the pines and sound of the river was intoxicating. I am sure summer is great as well but this is a favorite winter spot for us!

Great getaway

I took my two sons (13,16) and nephews (13,10) for a long weekend in the woods. The property was great. It allowed for exploring in the woods, some kayaking in the river and s’mores on the fire at night. We even took the opportunity to leverage the outdoor grill for steaks. We had one rainy night but the main cabin was comfy and allowed us to have a fire in the large stone fireplace. We loved that the property was very private and tucked into the woods. I enjoyed having my morning coffee listening to the river and the boys enjoyed the game room. While there was an upgrade cost to add the game room, it was worth having the extra space and amenities. Overall it was a great place to spend some time closer to nature with an expansive property to explore. This was definitely a highlight of our summer. We plan to keep this place on our revisit list!

Excellent, relaxing stay!

This is a beautiful, well-maintained lodge that was just as advertised. Twin over full bunk in main floor bedroom and twin over full bunk as well as 4 twins in loft. 1 1/2 baths. Beautiful screened in porch and lovely outdoor areas—one area with firepit and another located near running creek with beautiful shade. Property is well-stocked for cooking. Great stay!

Great place for a buddies trip

Fantastic house for a group of friends to get away to. The game room is a ton of fun at night. Great place to go and disconnect.

Awesome Cabin in the Woods

This property was awesome! Very secluded in the woods right on the river. The game room was so much fun at night watching sports, playing games, and knocking a few cold ones back. Would recommend this property 100%

Stay in August

We were excited to stay at this property with a group of friends. The property (land) is nice and the house was clean. The house was smaller than expected and quite dated. The layout is a kitchen entryway with a half bath that then goes into the living room/dining area. There is a loft with most of the beds, you have to climb across rafters to get to all the beds. A bedroom and a hallway with the full bath. Based on the number of people it slept we were expecting more room. Without renting the optional game room it doesn't sleep the advertised amount or have the advertised bathrooms. I did inquire about the game room but felt it was expensive to add on top of what we were already paying and also it would have been a transaction outside of VRBO which I wasn't comfortable with. Overall our group felt the house did not meet our expectations or what we expected for what we were paying.

Incredible Property

Beautiful historic lodge in an incredible location with plenty of space. Perfect location on the North/South Boardman River confluence with great fly fishing. Highly recommend. We will be back!

The Forks River Lodge

My friends(8) and I rented the property for a post class reunion gathering to spend quality time together. The location and accommodations were perfect for our group. Love the river being so close to the lodge and the lack of any neighbors was great. Owner was available and responded to all questions. Would recommend and likely to book with them again. They have a nice variety of properties as well that are all similar.

Fabulous Property!

The title of this property, "The Forks River Lodge," is a perfect description of this wonderful hideaway! The interior of the lodge presents just like the photos show...comfortable and homey. Nothing says "relax" like this log cabin interior. Outside there's a place for every person, every personality. Tranquil flowing river, serene forest floor to wind through to the riverbed, nature-presented surprises (blue-tailed skink and visiting chipmunks), and the ideal setting for steaks on the open fire or s'mores around the campfire. Most impressive are the winding waterways forming borders around the lodge. We spent a lot of time just exploring. We took advantage of local golfing, and many hours outdoors. The property was clean and serene, and just as the online listing described. The owner was accessible for questions, and made me feel welcome every step of the way! Our stay was perfect! Thank you!
